I think we can all agree that Steve Smith has proven time and time again that HE IS THE MAN!!! With that in mind, I think the only team that could have a chance to slow him down would be the Pittsburgh Steelers, and even they wont be able to defeat Carolina.... They are going to the show!!

If Shawn Alexander can play, Seattle will easily beat Carolina. Steve Smith can't do squat if he and the Panther's O are on the sidelines all day.

The Steelers did great against Indy, but I think Denver will beat them at their own game. Run the ball. Stop the run. Jake the Snake beats Big Ben.

Denver would beat Carolina easy, and would beat Seattle (even with a healthy Alexander) in a slugfest.

Alexander is recovering from a concussion, all it'll take is another hit to the head and he's out. Carolina defense is almost like a brick wall. Seahawks will have very little space to run on the O. Carolina made alot of miskate (mainly D) when it came to the Bears game, but on their reciever, they got #18 who is faster than Steve Smith, but can't catch the ball well. Then you have Steve Smith who can catch the ball and run it. I think Carolina will take out Alexander early on in the game and dominate the Seahawks.

The Steelers didn't use the run that much to beat Indy, yeah Willie Parker and Jerome had their moments but the game came down to Ben making critical throws and the defense keeping Manning's head the dirt.

The Steelers have proven themselves to be more flexible than the last few years being able to change their offense at the flick of a switch. However Ben's arm may be hurt so they probably will resort to using the run primarily.

It should be a good game, but Pittsburg never does well in the championship game.

That's my point. Bill Cowler built that team to run the ball, and stop the run. But now they are too dependant on Ben's arm, and the defense has given up some yards to good backs. If they let Denver (#2 rushing offense in the NFL) chew up yardage and the clock, it will make them rely on Ben even more, which goes right to the strength of the Denver D.

I've seen that the Steeler's biggest weakness on defense is the following:

Slant passes: Their linebackers don't know how to get under the #2 reciver or what? The Colts reemed them open on at least 6 slant passes.

Play action: The linebackers are fast and mean but simple misdirection takes them right out of the equation leaving their secondary with no underneath help.

Unexpected run: When they don't think the run is coming they get ripped in half by it. It seems the linebackers open up way too fast on passing downs.

I'm pretty critical on linebackers because I am one, and these problems have been plaguing the Steelers for a damn long time.

Because the Bengels fans weren't? God they haven't been to a playoff game in like a decade and they were exploding, still lost and Carson Palmer still got assassinated ;)

Steelers play MUCH better on the road in the playoffs and that Indy game should never have been that close anyway.

Sad thing is I'm a Raiders fan :(

Palmer was taken out on his first passing play. If he had not been injured, Pittsburg would probably have lost. If Big Ben had been injured, Pittsburg would have been CREAMED.

Denver is different. It's not just the noise, which shook Tom Brady. You also can't breathe because you are not adjusted to the lighter air.

That didn't stop Oakland from winning last year :p (god that's sad that I have to go back a year)

Not as much as I hate the Patriots. :D

A single player has an effect but that's not it. The Steelers came out swinging in the second half the Bungles didn't. Not to mention Palmer's backup wasn't bad.

My god, that is sad...

Anyway it will be home teams all the way this next week. Seahawks and Bronco's in the Superbowl. Expect one hell of a game on Superbowl Sunday.

I dunno, Panthers tend to do very well on away games. Hell they do better away than home.

I'm a 49ers fan...have been for life...how do you think I feel?

Oh...and I voted for the Panthers not because I necessarily think they're going to win...but because Steve Smith kicks too much ass not to vote for the Panthers.

Love for the Panthers baby! Don't forget about steve Colt (#18), once he gets the ball he is out of there. Today in the Bear's game, he caught the ball and he ran baby! He was ALMOST out of their reach when he was tackled.

There's too much to fix, Bill Callahan did to the Raiders what Bush has done to the national debt. We might be 8-8 in 2 years from now and that's only because Al Davis is as powerful as GMs come.

Steve Smith kicks too much ass not to vote for the Panthers.

Joey Porter got hit in a drive by and was back on the field in 2 weeks.
