Unfortunately, due to an incident involving my DNA and a space-time wormhole, a race of SuperGoofballs from another reality will emerge and devastate the planet. The Nationstates forum will go down forever when several goofballs use the server-heads as makeshift rugby balls and they ar lost forever in the sea of mud that Earth has been transformed into by billions of goofballian feet.

on a serious note i hope this forum lasts a long time cos i've been on quite a few 'net forums and this one is by far the best in many, many ways.
anyone remember TIN's emotional "thank you" to NS and NSers on his departure, for one example? quotes like this sum it up pretty well, too
The mix of passionate individuals who inhabit these forums as a truly wonderful thing that I hope continues for many years to come.

if he keeps being able to plug his books on the main site, and that still generates sales, i see no reason for it to stop.
besides, if NS2 is something you have to pay for, then forum upkeep will be a given (assuming it sells well enough). i think i'd probably get NS2 if only to keep enjoying the company of you (us) nutty, nutty generalites ;)
actually that raises a good point: surely the really active players/RPers (and generalites of course :cool: ) should get a free subscription to NS2 a) simply for what they've given to the game already, and b) because their RPing skill and experience would be very useful for getting the new game up and running - and interesting - fast. hmm i might have to go post this in the NS2 forum (if its not an old idea already)

Jolt is not doing a very good job in providing this service, yet we are staring at their ads, and taking aboard their spyware.
If we were going to move, I'd be the first supporter.

I say it's the arcades/clanservers/uberservers/etc. that Jolt has. The forums are only a fraction of what they do.

Al Qaeda is now run by Bush-loving atheists (my God, is that possibly the most unlikely scenario ever?), and they're planning to take over the world firstly by stopping all political debate. The NS forum is clearly the world's hub of said political debate, so they decided to take that down first.
