I'm trying to upload a .wav file I made with Audacity to the internet (freewebs, putfile.com, etc), but I keep getting the friggin' "this document contains no data" message, even though it plays perfectly on windows media player! :headbang:

can anyone help, please?

i would guess its not uploading properly.

either check the FTP logs, use a different progam (cuteFTP does the trick usually) or upload to a filehosting site on the net maybe?

Freewebs.com and putfile.com ARE filehosting sites! that's what I'm trying to upload the wave file to, but won't work. :(

ah ok. hmm...
could be they don't allow you to stream audio off their sites. or maybe the type of wav isn't right (differences in bitrate or whatever). could try using a different filetype alltogether? (here's (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm) a great little app for that)

worst comes to the worst, you can email me the file and i'll host it for you on my webserver - go to my website (in sig) and my emails in there :)
(edit: just tell me if you do cos i hardly ever check that mailbox)

If you must know, the wave file i'm talking about is the anthem for my empire. :D Audacity CAN export things as a mp3, so I did that, and it works fine. You can see it in my sig. :)

Actually, I took it off of a video game. :D

basically, I downloaded an emulator, then the game. Many months later, when I finally got a microphone to hook to my computer, I ran the game emulator, loaded up the game, selected a scenario in the game, turned on my microphone, and let 'er rip. :D basically, I recorded the sounds coming from the speakers, rather than ripping the music from the game itself somehow (which I don't know how to do, thankfully).
