I'm gonna have to say that Nation States' forums are probably the best part of my school day. I have a few classes where I'm on the pc all day with nothing to do, so I use Nation States. Honestly, I find it a bit more intellectually stimulating than most of my classes....

I find that exceedingly sad, somehow. :(

I think I would have to agee with minoriteeburg... unless I find shitting on bathroom floors and high school drama more stimulating, which would be very sad indeed.;)

I find that exceedingly sad, somehow. :(It can be sad as a damnation of the state of our education system.

However, if you want to put a positive spin on it, elements of these fora can drive people to research to enhance their debating skills or improve their knowledge base about something in particular. For instance, I've learned a good bit about military technology and military history since starting to roleplay on these fora.

Well, I was politically active before I stumbled onto NS (political/religious threads and the mindless waste-of-time threads seem to be the only ones that catch my attention), and I would have to say that NS has improved my editorial writinig abilites. Just the other day I wrote one that changed a policy for the school paper....

Why are students on the computer all day nowadays?

cause the teachers can't teach. especially in public school where you don't need a degree to teach.

Totally in my last year of secoundary school the school went mad buying like 1000 computers going specialist and all that. Every lesson with a computer was really just an excuse for kids to mess about and teachers not to teach.

Wow, I'm glad I'm not younger than I am. First there are cameras everywhere and now that.

Say WHAT??? I can't speak for other States, but North Carolina has more requirements for its teachers than you can shake a stick at! Having a degree in the field in which you want to teach is only the first requirement!

thats sadly what i found with some of my uni seminars and lectures...Ditto, in reference to my first degree anyway. It really got to the point where I learnt more here than I did there which is a sad indictment on the lecturing I received back then.

Apparently, if the recent news is any indication, teaching is a nice way to find a cute young husband. :p

In my school we don't get on the computers much except to write reports and take reading tests. (Except us that help with the yearbook because we are on the computer for 1 class.) And I don't know if we are allowed to go on Nation States, but I'm not going to try it because they can track my password.
