I need to know (or at least need an appropriate link) how to solve inequalities in which both sides have absolute values. For example |x-5| is greater than or equal to |1-2x|

In general it's best to divide up absolute values into multiple equations when solving them. [x-5]>[1-2x], for example, could be divided into
x-5>-(1-2x) for x>5, -(x-5)>-(1-2x) for 5>x>1/2, and -(x-5)>1-2x for x<1/2
