THe link above shows a series of emails passed around the liberal 'war room', with their next campaign to be completely made of smears. They plan on attacking the conservatives and deannouncing NDP and Bloc to earn back votes. So far they manipulated CBC and CTV (both news networks) in saying how stupid the conserative ideas are and use this short called "Reality Check' to smear them further.

Here's hoping that Harper and his conservative party won't fall into the traps laid out by the Liberals. And here's hoping my fellow Canadians aren't sheep by giving into fearmongering. Vote whatever party suits you based on policy, not on fears.
dear god... Liberals just committed suicide.
This stuff just doesn't work in Canada. Any chance of me voting Liberal just went out the window. NDP all the way, but I have a feeling we'll be seeing a Conservative Minority. I wouldn't mind so much if it was someone other than Harper.

What did Harper do lately that makes him bad? In 2004 I would've agreed, but now?
As a student in Ontario, I'd like him to assure me that he won't allow Tuition Fee's to skyrocket, costs of healthcare to skyrocket, and not to put all the emphasis on Alberta.
...Plus he looks like the Devil.
When it comes to Provincial Elections, I will be voting Conservative, based on their platform.

The only campaign ads I've seen so far that were smeary were the Conservative ones. Also, the NDP needs to find better CG animators, bcause the weird money bag thing looks like some sort of insect larva.

That weird verbal 'information bits' ad the Conservatives have is laughable (and I did laugh). If they leave it to us to draw our own conclusion about what their message is supposed to be, then we will ...we will draw our own conclusion.

Okay, I read it. Re the first link, nowhere in the e-mails does it suggest that the Liberals will produce a series of smear ads. The blogger linked to is blatently misleading in his interpretation of what is said in some instances, such as where he suggests that the 'war room' made no "mention of promoting the Liberal agenda, just tearing down the Conservative one." (Fleischmann, 9:19 p.m.) What the Fleischmann e-mail actually says is, "We should also look at producing some creative of our own. A series that strips away the CPC gloss and speaks to what we've done and where we're going."
Really, the ony one suggesting here that the Liberals are going to smear anyone is the OP.
I take all the political ads with a grain of salt. It is, after all, a political campaign and the spin-doctors on both sides have to be acknowledged and accounted for. But so far, the only 'smear' I have seen is the Conservatives continued insistence that it was the "Paul Martin Liberals" that perpetrated the Sponsorship program. They, in fact, were the ones who ended it.

What about the recent RCMP investigation now? I mean, if a party is being questioned by authorities with no room to breathe, it doesn't matter who in charge, the party is corrupt.
