Is it being modest to admit you are not modest?
Are you not being modest when you say you are modest?
Post your opinions.

Yes. Unless of course you're saying you're unmodest in order to show other people how modest you are.

I think the most trully modest people are pretty straighforward about their abilities and accomplishments, as well as their shorcomings. Lots of 'modesty' is no more than a colossal cry for attention, and it can be dishonest and misleading as well.

This assumes that a lack of modesty is a failing. What if you're not modest and proud of it? :)

Modesty prevents me from stating my opinion.

I can't find the CD so I'm just going to paraphrase-
"I humble too. I can recognize my faults, my only fault is that I don't realise how great I really am." Cassius Clay

"Never fear that: if he be so resolved,
I can o'ersway him; for he loves to hear
That unicorns may be betray'd with trees,
And bears with glasses, elephants with holes,
Lions with toils and men with flatterers;
But when I tell him he hates flatterers,
He says he does, being then most flattered.
Let me work;"
Brutus, Julius Ceasar
William Shakespeare

Which more or less reflects how I feel.
