Hopefully nowhere. For that to be in the hands of the average person, m'thinks, would be a horrible idea. ...Why do you ask..?

whats the rack

It's a torture device, it's basically a table with two cylinders at each end. A rope is tied to both of your hands and feet, and is wrap around the cylinders. The person torturing you would turn the cylinders, thus pulling your hands and feet away from one another. So it's basically stretching you. Sometimes bone break, people break into halves etc.

If you have a growth hormone deficiency you can get it from doctors. You can however not just walk into a supermarket and grab it of the shelves.

i don't know if they're available over-the-counter, but for sure you can consult with a doctor and he can prescribe some (i forget the kind of specialist but ask your family doctor). my brother took it for a few months when he was 16, but unfortunately, his bones were already "fused", he only grew an extra 2 inch.

But for my etnicety, and Family I am low, so think of it, the avrege male in the USA is 5'9" thats the same as I am, but the avrege bosnian male is 6'
Then I am 3" lower then avrege, so if you were an american male. And you were 5'6" wouldn't you want to be taller.;)

If you are moving to Canada, you will probably find that 5'9" is not so short after all. It all depends on what part you move to. When I visited Toronto, I felt incredibly tall, and I am 6 feet.

On the other hand, out here in the west, 6 feet is more close to average. I know of several dozen women that exceed 6'3" inches.

It might increase your muscle mass, but I dont think it would increase your height.

Professional wrestlers use it, becuase it doesnt show up on steroid tests.
They dont grow taller, just larger.

Endocrinologist.

And I recommend you DON'T take HGH. You should first consult with your doctor, and ask him/her if they can recommend an endocrinologist in your area. Then go from there....

Also, don't buy diet/supplement pills online.....

I approve this message. And, really, him already being so tall (come on, there's nothing wrong with 5.9'/175 cm) and at that age, I doubt HGH would do any good, or that anyone would prescribe it.

Then again, I'm not an endocrinologist, and they can be weird people, so you never know...

Unless he's had a full blown exam, no endo in their right mind would even consider HGH. Seventeen is pretty much past the age of any type of growth therapy. Either the GP's are fused or there isn't enough time to administer the therapy before they DO fuse.

Kid, you're 17. HGH isn't going to do much for you, if anything. What it WILL do is hurt your internal organs. Your nose and ears will enlarge (yeah, that'll help with your confidence.)

Exactly. And apart from one of those orthopaedic bone elongation surgeries they sometime perform on dwarfs (or is it little people? midgets? I keep forgetting the English PC term), and thus not on people like him, to give them an extra ten centimetres or so, there's not much one can do.

How tall were/are the men in your mother's family? If they're averaging around 5'6 or so, you're just in the middle of your mom's genes and your dad's genes. Give it a rest, already!

Besides, it's been shown that when two people at one extreme (two very tall or two very short) have children, those children tend toward the average. And believe me, I know plenty of guys that'd kill to be 5'9", man. The further east you go in Canada, the shorter people tend to be. In Ontario, I felt just slightly below average at 5'1, but in Newfoundland I feel huge. (I'm the first girl to reach 5' in height in at least 5 generations, and that's only because my father was 5'6".)

And can 3 inches really make THAT much difference? Grow your hair out and get a mohawk, fer Pete's sake! Don't kill yourself slowly with supplements. HGH is no better than the scam supplement your other thread was about for someone your age.

Don't forget the pain! It's gruesome and is done slowly over a year or so. The bones (the femur and fibula/tibia, IIRC) are broken and pins are rammed through them, and then the pins are attached to an exoskeleton of sorts that can be elongated millimetres at a time to pull the fractures apart, elongating the procallus (it never really does become a real callus as you keep breaking it up) and thus the bone until you arrive at your designated length, when it is finally left to heal. You are of course immobile throughout this, and in quite the pain.

But, then, there'd be no gain, would there? ;)

At 17 you have not finished growing. You may still have a late growth spurt. David Robertson, a pro basketball player, grew 6 inches between his freshman and sophmore years in college. I want to say that growth for men completely ends around 21-22 years, but someone would have to verify that.

If it makes you feel better, I am thinking about making a list of reasons why 6'3" sucks.

1- can't get hand into f'ing pringles can
2- hit head on regular basis on lamps and planters in restaurants (always a points winner on dates)
3- did I mention hitting my head a lot
4- cloths take up more space in dressers and closets
5- can't fit into many small cars without a shoehorn.
6- long arms means that push-ups for the Physical Fitness test suck (Force=mass*distance)
7- People assume you can play basketball

How old are you? If you're very far past puberty HGH won't really make you taller. The thing is that your bones just stop lengthening after a while and no hormone available anywhere will change that.

I think you'd make a great in pediatrics, or else internal medicine (oh god...that means fass reminds me to some extent of my father. hold me.)

but seriously, you seem like the kinda person who actually cares about people, which is sadly lacking in alot of doctors....(not that I hate my dads partners for being soulless bastards or anything like that. no. not at all.)

aaaaaanyway, don't take HGH. First of all, you're average height. Second, you're past the age where they will really help, but still vulnerable to negative effects. third, being tall isn't always so great. I'm only 6'2", and STILL have people asking me how the weather is "up here". Really, it isn't worth it. Deal with the fact that you aren't a giant. Become friends with midgets if it is that bad. You'll be tall by relativity.

Listen, people here are giving you various ideas which are complicated, and completely unnecessary.

The simple solution is to tie a heavy weight around your feet. Then, jump up and grab hold of the top of a door frame, and just... dangle. For 6 - 12 months.

Assuming your arms don't drop off, when you let go you'll be taller! I guarantee* it!

* I do not guarantee this guarantee, however.
