I lean towards rock/metal.

Specifically I generally like grunge, old school punk, stoner rock, "classic rock" and the blues.

Favourite bands would be Nirvana, Kyuss, Rage Against the Machine, the Dead Kennedys, Tool, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Mudhoney, Alice In Chains, Monster Magnet....etc...but I like a lot of stuff.

It's a program that you can use to write guitar notation on computer and have it played back in MIDI format.

Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Jimmy Cliff, the Beatles, Ornette Coleman, Grandmaster Flash, the Velvet Underground, Bob Marley, Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Aphex Twin, Autechre, Kraftwerk, Ozomatli, almost anything Latin American...it's all good.

Except gangster rap, which is awful beyond words.

i hereby give you a thumbs up, although i can't stand tchaikovsky or mozart. they're much too conventional for my tastes. i'm more of a stravinsky/ debussy/ satie and varese/ cage/ stockhausen kinda guy.

recent additions to my musical library:

Giorgio Moroder- From Here to Eternity
(Utterly cheesey electronic disco, circa 1977)

Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft- Produkt der DAF
(Improvised noise rock with synthesizer, circa 1979)

Vangelis- Blade Runner
(My favorite soundtrack ever, ambient synthetic jazz and proto-techno)

Suicide- First Album
(Rockabilly tinged post-punk on an organ and synths)

Jean-Michel Jarre- Zoolook
(Ambient/ Synth Pop/ World/ Art Funk craziness)

TONTO's Expanding Head Band- TONTO Rides Again
(Futuristic soundscapes from the world's largest synthesizer, circa 1971)

The Screamers- Live in San Francisco, Sep. 2, 1978
(Obnoxious punk rock on an electric piano and synthesizer)

if you couldn't tell, i'm a whore for synthesizers and vintage electronica.

I'm going to be the first to mention Rush.

These guys have always been underrated and seriously underappreciated by critics. Moving Pictures is one of the best albums ever, and Red Barchetta is possibly the best car-oriented song in existence.

Recently I've started really getting into European power metal. Rhapsody and Dragonforce especially. I'm a huge metalhead(but not exclusively) and if you name a metal band I can probably name a song of theirs and another band in the same sub genre. I also like Pat Benetar.

MUSIC!
'Everybody hates Ned Flanders'

Everybody in the USA
Hates their stupid Neighbour.
His name is Flanders and he's really really lame!
Flanders tried to ruin my song,
His view on birth control are wrong.
I hate his guts, and Flanders is his name.

F-L-A-N-R-D-S
He's the man I hate best
I wish his house would go up in flame

F-L-A
His name is NED!
D-R-S
It's a stupid name!
He's worse than Frankenstein or Doctor No!
You can't annoy him even slightly, he just smiles and nods politely, then goes home and worships nightly.
His leftorium, is an emporium of woe!

F-L-A
Don't shout at Ned!
D-R-S
His wife is dead
Everybody hates that stupid Jerk!

Springfield rocks to Homer's joyous loathing
Filling clubs with Angry Valentinos
You don't have to move your feet!
Just hate Flanders to the Disco beat
He's your perky, peepy, Nightmare Neighbourino!

If you despise polite left-handers,
then I doubt your like Ned Flanders
Or his creepy little offspring Rod and Todd!

F-L-A
His name is Ned
D-R-S
He's so white bread
The geeky, Moustache moron who walks with Gooooooooddddddddddddd

You people and your DHC (I like some if it, actually. Can be quite interesting). It's easy for me to appreciate many types of music, so here's what I don't listen to:

Modern country a.k.a pop with a Texas accent (excluding Brad Paisley, becasue he's a good guitarist)

Most modern rap (I like Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, etc. but not more modern stuff)

Modern pop

Most disco, although some is good, most isn't

That's about it. Everytihng else, from Cash to RATM, from the Beatles to Megadeth, Weather report to ZZ Top, etc. is fair game for me.

I'm trying to not be overly harsh, so please don't take offence, but it sounded really generic to me. I can turn on the radio and hear hundreds of bands that sound exactly the same as that, particularly in the vocals. You guys probably have talent, but it sounds like you're trying to be too commercial.

I'd have to agree.
You guys can play, theres no question about it.
However, you guys sound like everyone else.

If you sound like everyone else, no one will remember you.
If you sound like no one else.....people will remember that.

Im a musician too, and I know how tough it is to hear criticism of your songs.
But, to be honest, you guys are good.....you just need a sound more your own.

The guitar riffs, while good..sound a bit too similar, as in a bit too much alike the last one...that can be good for defining your sound, but overdone, and all your songs will sound alike.

Oooh, yeah, I like music. Nice, isn't it?
Metal, punk, ska, rock, classic rock, electronica, glitch-rock, post-rock, math-rock, any combination of them all. And my girlfriend's trying to get me into classical. I'm trying to get her into punk.
And that link in my sig that says 'The greatest band in the world' - I'm not kidding.
