Clearly the overall "humour" of this joke escapes me.

Nazis are facists who have this whole 'race' thing based on bad psuedo-science from one hundred years ago. Facists, on the other hand, believe in the strengthening of the nation by any means nescesary (however you spell that word).

Not saying I agree or disagree with it, just trying to sort out a common mistake. It's like saying everyone who follows a democratic republic system of government is a Republican (the guys in power in the US at the present time). It just doesn't work.

Not in the slightest, the holocaust is entiely comparable to the frankly risable purges and anti-semitic pogroms prosecuted by Stalin, only that Stalin was indisciminate and did so for personal factors, the Nazi's did so in adherence to an admittedly fraudulent ideology.
