"Obie Trice was shot this morning (Dec. 31) while driving on a freeway in Detroit, Michigan.

The rapper was traveling on The Lodge Freeway just after 1:00 am, when someone in another vehicle open-fired on the car Trice was driving, with his girlfriend as a passenger.

"He got shot in the head," Obie Trice's manager Terry Wilson told AllHipHop.com. "He was driving his Range Rover on the Lodge Freeway, after leaving a Mike Epps after party."

According to police, a wounded Obie Trice continued driving and exited in the suburb of Southfield, where his girlfriend flagged down police officers.

Trice was rushed to the hospital, treated and released.

Trice has rapped on Eminem records as well as with rappers including 50 Cent. Trice's 2003 debut album “Cheers” was produced by Eminem, and he also had a small part in the feature film “8 Mile,” which starred Eminem."

Ay. Will Smith? I can't stand him...his music truly sucks. There are some fantastic rappers out there who also don't cuss...and don't have egos the size of Will Smith's. K-OS (Canada). Awesome stuff. Manau (France)...weird Celtic rap...very fantastic. Manu Chao does some good rapping...La Mala Rodriguez (Spain), Los Orishas (Cuba)...and on and on. Like EVERY genre there are your pre-packaged, vomit inducing craploids, and then there are the real musicians...hidden in the background for people who don't expect their music handfed to them.

If anything I think it has more to do with class than with the wider spectrum of 'WASP-ishness' - not that the middle and upper classes mind their own kind effing and blinding, but working class profanity always seems to kick up a particularly strong reaction, especially when it is intruding into fields they consider their own.

Working class profanity is generally considered OK, because it is to be expected. I find it annoys the middle class only when the individuals in question have equivalent wealth. Nothing more offensive to the professional classes than the uneducated wealthy, pretty much irrespective of their language.
