I had planned to start this an hour ago, but Jolt wasn't co-operating. Here's what I'm going to do: keep track of the places that reach midnight as the day progresses. Here's what we've had so far--

5:00 AM EST (1000 GMT) -- Christmas Island, Kiribati
5:15 AM EST (1015 GMT) -- Chatham Island, NZ
6:00 AM EST (1100 GMT) -- New Zealand; Tonga
More updates throughout the day. I'm up until 6:00 AM EST tomorrow. :D

Yeah, they just had a countdown for Adelaide on the radio.

It's 2:30 pm here.

The more I think about it, the more bizarre this time zone stuff gets. I don't think I even knew there were half-hour time differences.

That's nothing. Nepal is in a time zone of its own at +5:45 from GMT. Also, when it hit midnight on Christmas Island, and was Saturday in most aother places, it was 11:00 PM Friday in Samoa.

BTW, so people don't get confused, places are separated by semicolons. Commas are used if the place is not well-known and separates the city from the country it's in. (like Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste) :)
