Yeah, we've never had this kind of ask as..
Here are questions you shouldn't ask.
Do you store your urine in bottles?.....No
Do you wash your hands a 100 times a day?....No, not even close.
do you urinate on your hands 100 times a day?

Arf, for the last three days of uni, 3 of my flatmates and I stored piss in any bottle we could find (to see how much we collectively piss, honest!). After one day, there was a full 2l coke bottle, two full 70cl Martini bottles and a couple of Grolsch swingtop bottles.
And I have a shower a day and wash my hands before cooking/after I took a dump (not the same thing. No really. It might look the same in the end product, though...)
Ask her if she'll clean the bathroom naked.

I was diagnosed once as obsessive compulsive, but have since been rediagnosed.
anyway, I still scrub the bath tub before every bath

My sister is OCD Coming back from vac, after breaking her ankle she proceeded to tackle the 12 ft christmas tree alone. She couldn't wait for me to help her at nine. no, it had to be done at7 am because it was "mocking and taunting her" "ornaments and tree limbs on the floor begging to be swept up." . She couldn't get the lights off so she threw it out the door. When her husband came home she was like, don't ask. Take it pull it to the curb, piss on it and light it on fire.thank god it skipped me

my husband found me once at 3am mopping the kitchen floor, for the 5th time that day, I couldn't get it clean............ I fully understand the Christmas tree thing. ;)
So what do you do?
Besides making illegal threads, not much (look at Athar for example).

I think the Ask a...threads are only illegal when you get fucking thousands of copycats within 10 minutes. At least, if that isn't the rule then it damn well should be.
EDIT: Slick advertising, btw.

So what do you do?
I'll give you a short list:
Rarely touch a doorkob in a public place, at home as well, I carry small packages of tissues and a bottle of hand sanitizer. If something does not feel correct, say an object, I move it until it is "perfect", which takes anywhere from 10 seconds to one minute, I move my hands in wild motions, but I have moderate control over it. I carry my own soap.

Are you obsessive-compulsive? I never realised. If I can ask a question then; how much does it affect your day to day life?
I ask because I know a girl who's diagnosed with OCD and she's bigly into tarot cards, runes, readings from psychics - magical thinking generally, and won't do anything on a given day until she's been through her rituals; then tries to life her life according to these rituals. She's convinced her parents will die if she goes out with a bloke - because then, it'll cosmically be 'OK' for her parents to die, because she'll be with someone who can comfort her. Also thinks she'll have a baby not long after this to complete 'the circle of life', as it were. Consequently, if she ever does like a guy, verrry leery about physical contact of any sort, in case it leads to a close relationship and therefore her parents' death.
It really upsets me that 'psychics' have filled her head with this, taken her money, and left her unable to life her life the way she wants. Is her example, her experiences this way at all typical, do you find, or what?

So what happens if you're out of soap and hand sanitizer and you've just flushed a public toilet?

I would never use a public toilet, but if I had to, then I would use the soap and paper towels provided and wash my hands again when I got home.

God, someone with OCD would have hated DOmino Day '05 (the best thing I've EVER seen, there were 4 million dominoes involved!!!!!!!).

I used to be like that, except mine was prayer. I prayed every time I believed I had made a mistake and if I muddled the prayer, the process would begin again. Now I am an atheist so that has no effect on me now. However there are other annoyances. I have moderate control, but sometimes it's easier to just give in rather than feel the anxiety that would happen if an action is not done. (Outways the benefits.)

Here's a question: How long do you think it'll be before the Mods delete this thread as part of their 'Ask a ...' policy'?:p

Have you seen the film Matchstick Man? I was just wondering how accurate Nick Cage was to an actual person with OCD.

Seems they wanted to make it as drawn out as possible? Ever seen As Good as It Gets? That was just a stereotypical depiction.

If you did a project, did every aspect of the project had to be perfect? What would you do if one aspect of the project wasn't perfect? I asked this because, yes, the great Howard Hughes Jr. would re-build planes if even one aspect wasn't perfect, it took them a while to build the H-1 Racer.

Mods did it - false advertising or something. TSI still has his, but I don't know why.
