Online personalities ... VS real life
Lol ran across this ... its a lot like flamewariors but I find this one to be much funnier
I am not sure which I am yet :)
Do you think you fit any of these?
How does your online personality match up with your real life one?
I don't match up with any of them :( I feel so not-internet worthy :(
I'm the same person on here as I am in RL...except in RL i'm a fair bit more rational and there's less of the batshit insanity. It's still there, though. :D I also tend to be a bit on the reserved side, occasionally.
You can't trust people online but that is just stereotypical creulty. :(

Yeah, right. I've seen the pictures. Is your stright jacket loose enough to type from the padded cell?

Believe it or not, I'm not that much different in RL from online, if at all. Even my love of discussion and debate carries over - my boyfriend and I get into political/religious/philosophical/semantics discussions/debates/arguments all the time - sometimes as a carry-over from here.
I don't generally tell completely random people things like "I just bought a corset," unless something about that happens to come up in conversation - but then again, you guys aren't *completely* random =)

One phenom I've noticed-
Everyone on the internet is a pimply lifeless loser except you.
To hear people talk.

Not necessarily. They can be any combination of the above...not automatically all three. :p

the article seemed kinda bitter, i wonder what the author is in real life.
im funny in real life. since the rules here forbid "flaming" i cant post the outrageous, sarcastic and mean things that pop into my head constantly as i read through some of the more inane posts on this forum.
Little off topic...but it fits.

Oh God, as sad as this sounds, the Dark Poet is literally the only one that has a CHANCE of fitting me.
Sigh. I guess I'll march off on my continuing quest to convince the world and myself that, despite the evidence to the contrary, I'm not the "emo kid" of yesteryear....
Hahahaha, I'm none of those. Funny stuff, though.

Huh... I notice that the only female role is the unbearbly sweet cutie girl.
But maybe that's because there really are no women at all on the internet and I'm just a snippet of my own imagination...

If there was a "I'm normal, I'm normal, I have a life, don't look at me like that - I'm normal!"-stereotype, I think it would fit into all of you guys ;)

I don't. At times i'm any of them. I don't know if i've indulged ALL of those on any one post, i'd have to exhume.
I'm the kind of guy that figures a person can be goaded in this kind of medium to reveal some of their personality - but then, that would be a reflexive aspect of their personality, methinks.

I guess I'm glad because I'm not really any of those. Still, I think that most of those personalities reside somewhere within me and that none are really dominant at the moment. Sorry if I sound kind of spacey right now. Whoa...look at those fingers that are typing. Cosmic.

I can vouch for Straughn, he has had at least some female contact. Though I am not sure how much after she woke up;) I think they might have had a bit of truth when forums and the internet in general was regulated to geekdom. However, nowadays I think you have to factor in non geeks who are somewhat honest about their reactions. It is hard to keep a charade going...espicially being the opposite of what you truly are. At least that is my take. Someone else will have to tell me what I fall under, as I don't think you can quantify yourself without self delusional fantasy imaging. That is just my .02$

...or the operation came through.
I've been a proponent for little anime projections for certain nations/posters here, but i doubt it's worth it to the server. Some folks here though pass ya right on to their home/web pages etc.
I'm not in any hurry to have a visual interpretation of me just yet - i appreciate the challenge of offending people with verbal imagery and allusion, presently.

I imagine they're just as interested as they can possibly be if you aren't talking about them or shopping.

Oh yeah, same here, no question. I do open up after being around people long enough (say 45 minutes), though.

In real life I am Good and Chaotic.
I am what you see. A Libertarian Synic. There are pics of me from the past 17 or so years in my "Player Profile". When the script is working, I accept personal emails. Why should I pretend to be someone/something else?
So, no, none of those apply.

A forty year-old man, or Damon Wayans?
Damon's married, and kinda high-profile at that. But he gots the $ and he doesn't look too bad (neither does that brother of his that was in Scary Movie 2). You'd have to employ some pretty intrepid tactics! ;)
As for a forty year-old man ... there's probably quite a few here ...
I should note i have about another decade before i could qualify, sorry.

In RL I'm cynical, a bit shy (mostly around women), a little bit funny and, tbh, probably quite dull. Judge for yourselves if I'm different on here. :p
