Capt. Hans Geering: Do you not see? That if you kill him with the pill from the till by making with it the drug in the jug, you need not light the candle with the handle on the gâteau from the château.
René: Simple plots are always the best.

I loved that show.

One of the funniest WWII programs ever if not the funniest.
I do not get to watch it much as it is on UKTV something i generally avoid and the Sattelite is normally watching something else.

Dads Army is the Greatest IMO.

Dads Army and 'Allo 'Allo are both great shows, the 80's and early 90's were the prime for BBC sitcoms.

'aideu 'aideu - the final episode/spin off from 'allo 'allo any one seen that?

I remember one episode where the British airmen were escaping and they dressed up in an absolutely ludicrous cow costume. Hilarious, it is a shame they do not show repeats more often.

I also loved the way they changed accents to show they were talking another language.

Dad's Army was in the 1960s/70s wasn't it? I know it definitely wasn't as modern as the 1980s.

(A squirrel in a tree lobs an acorn at Flick's head.)

Flick: I believe I've just been conked by a squirrel.
von Smallhausen: (Turns towards the squirrel tree and yells) INSOLENCE!! WE ARE THE GESTAPO!!

(The squirrel replies with a machine-gun volley of acorns. The two Gestapo agents flee for cover.)

I was informed by a rather knowledgable fellow, that 'Allo, 'Allo was a spoof of a more serious show, made on the same sets, with the same characters (each played by the same actors), and filmed using the same crew. He also informed me that the base series didn't even last a full season.:p

It was a parody of Secret Army which actually lasted for three series. I don't think the same sets were used either.

A story that grew in the telling, then. Oh well. Do you know if the rest is true? I'm fairly certain that the main character, Rene (sp?), had the same actor.
