What are you planning for New Year's Eve?

Cabra West

Let's hear your plans....

Me, I'm going to a party at a friend's house.
For some reason, the Irish don't have fireworks on New Years Eve, fireworks are in fact illegal.
However, you can buy large amounts of them on the street markets before Halloween, which seems to be the traditional time for fireworks here, so we got some then and will stage our own little pyrotechnical magic... let's hope the weather will be ok :D

I have to work in the evening, but I've worked it so that I'm not closing up, so I'll be out of there at the first possible chance, in my car and shooting up the coast to a new years party. Then I get drunk and hit on 17 year old girls that are apparently going to be there.

Well my friend from uni was supposed to be coming up from Birmingham but she was in a car crash and has whiplash and her car is a write-off so i'm gonna be boring and go to the pub with my mum, stepdad and sister

It's always nice to start the New Year with friends and family reminding you of the embarassing things you did during the New Year's Eve party when you can't remember a thing...

Nasty person that I am, I would always make up embarassing stories for friends who suffer from alcohol-induced amnesia. If the person can't remember anyway, he might as well have spent the time doing something REALLY funny and out of character :D

On New Years Day, we'll have leftovers, take the kids to the beach. Maybe Ill do my polar bear routine if I'm up to it.

I have in the past as well. The surf can sometimes be very rough though. And there is also the tradition of my friends and family retreating to the heated cars-with my clothes and locking the doors.

I'll mention something else too- the "shrivel" factor can be horrifying after this swim. It takes a long, hot shower to return equipment to its usual state.

As usual, I'm planning SFA for New Year's Eve/my birthday. I invariably get sick around this time of year, and true to form, I'm developing a rather nasty stomach flu. Normally we spend a boring evening with my husband's family, (New Year's Eve being more of a family orientated day for Chileans than Christmas, which is a huge party), but since he's away working, I declined, in favour of spending a relaxing evening at home, watching mindless tv.

However, there is currently an insane deal on a flight to Cuba for tomorrow...and if my husband can manage to make the 4 pm flight out of the mine today, we're going for two weeks at 8 in the morning, Friday. Which would be pretty fun.:D

Bastard hasn't called me yet though...it's almost 3, so I doubt it's going to happen:(

Administration is wrong? ?? There are about 25 islands there I would go to first, before Cuba. Why would I go to Cuba on vacation-unless I wanted it to be like an episode of "Survivor"?
I know-its really stylish to go to Cuba. I hope they can make ice the day you are there. And when you come home, you can try to rid yourself of the planarias and whatever other stylish and exotic stowaways take residence in your colon.

I'll be spending the (late) evening with someone who has to go to work, they'll probably finish after 10.00pm and before 11.00pm.
Dont know what we'll do. We were thinking of heading into town or visiting friends (or both) but that was before we knew about work - it might be too much bother to 'spruced up' and go out after getting in from work after 11.00pm.

So I know who I'll be spending the evening with, but not where.

For me personally, it's probably a waste of time making 'detailed plans' anyway. Last ime I planned a big New Years Eve out 'on the town', I didnt even make it out of my own suburb, I ended up spending the night stuck to a couch, round the corner, at a friend's house...
