So who here has a tattoo? When did you get it and why? Pain??
I have one (shamrock, how orignal :rolleyes: , got it about 3 weeks ago) didn't really have much of a reason. I don't think it hurt, like at all. I was expecting a bit more pain-wise.
For the un-tattooed...what do you think of people with tattoos? Do you think more negativly or positivly of them? Are you thinking of getting one?

I plan on getting a tattoo of a big confederate flag on my back with a gator in front of it. I was also thinking of getting a ghostbusters tattoo for kicks.

I have 5.5. (let me explain) When I was 18, I got a stupid flash yin/yang on fire with my then girlfriend because we thought it was so "us". Yeah right. So one of the ones I have now is a large Reaper cover-up of that one (left-upper arm). So I put the 5.5 because I've sat in the chair 6 times, yet I have 5 tattoos. The other 4- My fraternity crest (TKE-right Arm), and my astrology. Chinese (dragon-left calf), Wastern (scorpion-right calf) and Navajo(Sidewinder- back, starting at the base of the neck and winding down between the shoulder blades).

I have my Ranger tab tatooed on my shoulder. I chalk it up to too much beer after too many days without enough sleep or food. That and the alternative would have been spending the night suspended from the barracks roof tied up in a sleeping bag. It didn't hurt, but at the time I was pretty much incapable of feeling any pain.

Irish-German-american (germishican??). I was considering getting a german flag, but I'm sure I'd be called a nazi (:rolleyes: ), and I already have a German last name, I decided to go for a shamrock.

LOL, you can always get it removed...
But I think with tattoos it's best to stick with race/ethnicity/nationality because you can't really change that so there really would be much of a reason to get it removed.

Although embraced by rednecks worldwide, it is also a symbol of rebellion, states rights, and a refusal to take shit from anyone. Especially uppity rap artists.

I'm technically up to 13 now. The large tribal piece on my forearm has an identical copy on the underside. (although that wouldn't be visible at this angle anyway) Its a work in progress, sometime around March I'll be adding two pieces between them to connect the two tribals as a full forearm sleeve.
I also just got a Raven done on my chest last monday.
::edit:: actually I remembered I have a picture of the two tribals as well.

I've contemplated getting tattooed for almost 30 years now. It's always been a financial decision not to over the years. Ya know.. Tattoo or electric bill... tattoo or feed the kids... Now that I'm at a point where I could afford such a person extravagance I look around and find that my untattoooed and unpierced body is more of a rareity and more of a statement of individuality than following the sheep into the evermultiplying numbers of tattoo and piercing parlors.
Besides they'd clash with my scars.
