It's been a resort for longer than there's been trouble there.
And I'd imagine with the current problems, you can fuck one of the locals for a lot less than it would have cost you before...

Well, you make a lot of money if you import drugs there.

Face it, Corby was guilty, as was the dude in Singapore.
As for the bombings, well, that's a question of whether you'd want to punish the population of Bali, which depends on tourism, for the actions of a few nutcases that come from other islands anyways.

That being said: It's the same as Mallorca for Europeans, or Cancun for Americans. Australians go there and get smashed having a party. And there are even a few exotic temples.

firstly, you dont need to have much money to have a good time there
secondly, the island is predominatly Hindu, and also look at the time between the bombings. tip: dont go to bali in october
thirdly: corby was guilty. one thing most of the media conveniantly left out was that she tried to stop indonesian customs looking through her bag. the tip here is to make sure that your luggage is secured and dont take drugs there in the first place. btw, the hanging took place in singapore. they use the firing squad in bali/indonesia

Paul Wolfowitz should've been in Bali when the bombs went off. He ordered the replacing of the US Ambassador to Indonesia in early 2001 because he was "raising too much alarm about the Al-Qaeda's influence in Indonesia".

I think I could have a pretty nice time in Bali. I'm not sure it would be any better than in Key West, or the Bahamas, but I'm sure it would be a good time.

Maybe it's just me. I'm not a sun'n'surf type of guy; and I get no enjoyment haggling with people over tacky tourist gifts...

From what I have heard it's a great looking place and most of the people are decent.....

Because it's my special island.
I like the idea of a full production song-and-dance in the sand and on the deck.
I even drifted off as such while watching American Beauty.
