I haven't been able to hop on here (except for very briefly) since Monday.
Here's what I've been doing:
Wednesday: I flew from Osaka to Tokyo to Minneapolis to Des Moines Iowa. (13 hours air time, 20 hours total travel time). The flight was OK. I finally go to meet my new 5 month old nephew - Miles.
Thursday: The main event Wednesday was helping to slaughter my brother's goat - not exactly on the solstice, but close enough. And yes, there was a burnt offering, as the ground is too cold to bury the remains (skin, forelegs, and intestines - everything else is eaten or fed to the dogs).
Friday: This was a rest day, and we played family games.
Saturday: We spent 6 hours opening pressies and eating my brothers last lamb.
Sunday: We went to my sister-in-law's annoying father's place in Des Moines and had Chirstmas dinner with his snobby Russian mail-order bride and their bratty 4 year old son. Christmas dinner was paella (sp?). I spent most of the day working my new Sudoku puzzle books.
Today: We're touring the new 120 acres my brother bought this summer.
Tomorrow and beyond: The plans include shopping, a movie (Walk the Line), a hockey game, and New Years Eve at the farm.
So, what fun are you having?
