Something Good About Canada

I'll go first... the rest of you follow - post something (and a link) to something good about Canada.

I think it's great that Canada no longer thinks that a swing club is something the police should raid.

MONTREAL (Reuters) - On a recent night out on the town, Michel and Chantal Delbecchi left their suburban Montreal home and drove to the L'Orage Club in the city's east end, where they had sex with a couple they had never met before.

The Delbecchis, husband and wife since 1978, are "echangistes," French for "swingers," who for the past 21 years have been visiting clubs like L'Orage (Thunderstorm) to have consensual sex in a group with one or more other people.

For future outings, they will no longer have to fear police will raid the club and arrest them for being in a "bawdy house," a place where prostitution or acts of public indecency take place.

In a landmark decision on Dec, 21, the Supreme Court of Canada lifted a ban on swingers' clubs, ruling that group sex among consenting adults is neither prostitution nor a threat to society.

A new set of international CPR guidelines has been introduced in Canada that aims to simplify the process and save more lives. The latest wisdom on CPR advocates a delivery that offers more chest compressions and less ventilation, at a rate of two rescue breaths for every 30 compressions......http://colab.rsnz.org/canada/ (Whole bunch of crap on good things Canadia does)

Well yeah it's about Canada, in a fairly broad sense. The cameos were killer. I like it (particularly the crowds of apologetic Canucks at the base of the CN Tower, continually saying 'sorry' to whoever bumps into them.) I didn't think of it as being about Canada so much as it was about the bumpkins from Western New York and that weasel-like US Prez. But I see your point.

I like that movie because its humor is all over the place. The scene with omega force running, then the guy spraining his leg and getting shot because of it is one of my favorite parts. That and the garbage truck with all the slurs in french and english is pretty good too.

I don't care who Canadians vote for as long as it is not Liberal. Prime Minister Martin and Justice Minister Colter combined are ensuring that the gun violence on the streets of Toronto will only get worse by them increasingly allowing violent criminals out of jail before they are truly rehabilitated, assuming they spend anytime in jail to begin with.

I just have to bring this thread to light...I think it's the first positive thing I've seen you say about Canada lately!

And I heard this news as well...though there are many swingers clubs operating in many cities across this country that never get raided...that have good relationship with law enforcement and so on. Sort of like 'massage parlours' that offer much more than massages...technically they are just shy of legal, but in practice, they are generally left alone.

But still, being more open to it...I just hope that one day this means the 'activities surrounding prostitution' will no longer be illegal, and we can somehow make is safer for those in the oldest profession. I'm not linking swinging with prostitution by the way...just making a jump from swinging to overall sexual attitudes.
