Hello, I recently bought Wittgenstein's Tractatus Logico-philosophicus and (obviously) am finding it a tad difficult read. I have no knowledge of logic and was wondering if it would be a waste of time to try and finish the book without first reading some more general books on logic. If anybody knows any good books on the subject please give it to me baby.

It's been awhile since I read this, but Logic Made Easy, by R. H. Warring provides a pretty good starting point.

EDIT: One of the few college texts I truly enjoyed, as opposed to working my way through it, was Argumentation and Debate: Rational Decision Making, by Austing J. Freeley. I have no idea if it's still available, but it's truly excellent for understanding the basic elements of verbal logic.

Wow, I bought Tractacus Logico-Philosophicus a couple of days ago in a second-hand bookshop. I haven't tried reading it yet though.
