Jeez, that's disgusting! At least 50 times?! Of course it should be illegal (and it is here). Interestingly it's not illegal in the Lebanon for a man to engage in sexual activity with an animal, provided the animal is female.
Unless the animal can give explicit consent, then it should be illegal.

You could argue that as murder is worse then rape, then eating meat is worse than 'having relations' (as the article puts it) with animals. I'm not going to argue that though, as I don't think the analogy is valid.

What are your opinions on this sort of thing?
In theory my position would be that if the animal was not the one engaging the intercourse and is hurt/damaged by it I would consider it maltreatment; same as if you kicked it repeatedly or put a knife in its side.
In practice the hurt however is a bit tricky to show if it is not physical. Therefor I stay on the safe side and just call all sex the animal did not start maltreatment. Maybe that is unfair; but it is equivalent to the human rules concerning rape (sex without consent = bad).

One the one hand, a vet can stick his whole friggin arm inside the backend of a a pregnant cow to check if the calf is ok or other such things. And on the other hand a man can't stick something equivalent to a finger inside the backend of a cow if there's no reason other than his sexual gratification.
I don't think a cow's gonna even notice the latter much to be honest. Which however doesn't mean I don't think that man's a sick bastard.

It is very odd that we think it perfectly alright to slaughter certain entities but a criminal and disgusting act to have sex with the same entities.
Who is harmed? Certainly the animal is harmed more by being killed.
(And I've never done anything like this -- no matter what that ewe says.)
