At the risk of sounding hypocritical (hey, why change a winning formula?), I do actually dislike Christmas. I think it's because I don't really like spending time with my family - which could explain why I'm sitting here posting on NS General while my family is watching festive TV - yet am forced to in the holiday season. A couple of hours I can manage, but certainly not a day, let alone 3 weeks.
That said, I get cool presents.

I'm suprised how fast that happy chahannukwanza junk spread. It's like everyone's trying to be politicaly correct these days.

Damn it, why aren't you working? I say, I wagered a guinea that you wouldn't and it appears I have been proven correct...back to work, you ungrateful blaggards!

Today's pretty much just another sunday for me..
Too much of a bother to celebrate Christmas, and not really anyone to celebrate it with. Besides, our gift-exchange holiday was three weeks ago, and I didn't celebrate that either.

I got filmed in a church by the BBC. :)

From the back. :(

But hey, Doctor Who was on today! *makes rude gestures at all non-Brits*

Yup. I sat in the room, pointedly not watching the TV.

Christmas is just a commercial holiday for stores to make money and for people to increase their own supply of possessions. It has nothing to do with cheer or being merry but simply about greed to acquire more for yourself. That is the truth about Christmas.

Ah, but to catholics and christians who realize the unimportance of capitalism, what then? Before capitalism? Was it still about making money? To a lot of people who have opened their eyes and know what is goin on, making money is the least important factor in having a merry christmas. However, I'm pretty damn happy to get some free stuff.

For the first time in a long while I actually feel happy, somehow Christmas made that happen. That and there's a Tarantino marathon on Starz. "Bitch be cool!"

ah priceless.

They should know that Christ wasn't born on Christmas and the entire holiday is a bunch of pagan rituals.

It was a seperate point against Christmas. People don't care about history though so I'll stick with capitalist pigs controlling your Christmas gifts. :p

WOW! You really need to chill man. Getting an attitude isn't going to help you. You DID notice the title of the thread right? Besides Christmas is a capitalist holiday now. Most commercial outlets depend on Chirstmas shoppers to stay in business.

Come on guys, lets just return to good old rebellious Saturnia, you know chaos with vine.

Lords a leaping, Slaves uprising.

We can go get masks and demand some food from our local rich old men.

Part A: Agreed. Flamebaiting is no way to get your point across.
Part B: Agreed. NOW it is a capitalist holiday, as opposed to older times when it wasnt so much about how much money you can spend on presents, but which ones will have the biggest impact on your loved ones at the smaller price, and everyone just being happy. While i may be being "Miserable", it really is too bad that it is this way, and im sure im not the only miserable person out here who thinks so.

I didn't like this Christmas because it's also a Sunday. Usually, for me Christmas is like an extra Sunday. I don't have to work or do anything, no presents, no celebration, no nothing. But this year it fell on a Sunday, so I was cheated out of my extra day off. And New Year falls on a Sunday too, so I'm pissed. Oh, well, at least I got the week off.
