Such crassness, eviscerated as it is, will at once have become immaterial, for that human clade is to sup from its lead dish in these horizon-moments past (how matte and sleek they course!). These things past and impending were only ever motes on those gibbets of corpse-bound time you and we inter to spade-tempo lush with the dual imagos of our conceit.

If I had to tie four actresses to a bed, one to a post, it would probably be like this.
1. Catherine Bell, c. Early JAG
2. Lucy Liu, c. Payback
3. Janeane Garofolo, c. Mystery Men
4. Natalie Portman c. Star Wars Episode 2
Okay, mostly eye candy. But it's my bed.

I would have to say the best actress EVER was this chick named Danika Olafson I dated in college. She had me convinced that she was this sweet, loving as SO kick ass chick. When really she is a backstabbing, self-righteous slut who: completely broke my heart, ruined my reputation, screwed up my life beyond recognition, turned me into an alcoholic, and irrepairably damaged my psyche to the point that I can no longer believe a single word spoken by a woman.

Audrey Hepburn and Jodie Foster are my top two. But Grace Kelly was also pretty good.
But Dakota Fanning is on the road to Greatness so keep an eye on her, she'll be the next Jodie Foster if she plays her cards right.

I'm going to go with Charlize Theron for now, mostly because I don't feel like putting too much thought into it.
She can go from this (http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=charlize+theron/v=2/SID=w/l=IVS/SIG=12kp2dr35/EXP=1135481917/*-http%3A//film.onet.pl/_i/plotki/duze/c/charlize_theron_monster.jpg) to this (http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=charlize+theron/v=2/SID=w/l=IVS/SIG=12eof3k2s/EXP=1135482087/*-http%3A//film.onet.pl/_i/plotki/duze/c/charlize_theron_8.jpg) to this (http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=aeon+flux/v=2/SID=w/l=IVS/SIG=12k8j7146/EXP=1135482186/*-http%3A//www.mtv.com/movies/photos/a/aeon_flux_stills_041220/g.jpg) and be believable in most of her roles.
Edit: My second choice would be Milla Jovovich (http://rds.yahoo.com/S=96062883/K=milla+jovovich/v=2/SID=w/l=IVS/SIG=138d65n3i/EXP=1135482399/*-http%3A//www.poster.net/jovovich-milla/jovovich-milla-photo-milla-jovovich-6201117.jpg).

Charlize Theron is good, but she hasn't been in the business long enough for her to be given the title of "Best Actress Ever".
"Best Rising Star" would be more accurate for Charlize (and I did LOVE her performance in Monster).

Gina Gershon. Can't explain why, and even if I could, I probably wouldn't.
I'd say definitely Jodie Foster. Charlize Theron is also very, very good, but as others have said, she hasn't been in the bsuiness quite long enough to earn the title of Best Actress 'Ever'. Give it ten years and we'll have this discussion again.

So saying Angelina Jolie is worth a slap in the face then?
Greatest Actress would have to be Nicole Kidman she has been in so many various roles.
Note i think she isn't crash hot
Scarlett Johannson and Catherine Zeta-Jones also spring to mind.
*Fires Cannon at Julia Roberts*
Jodie Foster, easy.
Greatest comedic actress goes to Lily Tomlin and Marilyn Monroe, tie.

Don't spoil it for me.:(
I have no idea if she's actually a great actress, in fact, I've only seen a few movies with her, and she was playing very simular roles, but Audrey Hepburn is one of the more beautiful women in history in my opinion. As far as acting talent goes though, I really never thought about it. Penelope Cruz is another of the more beautiful women ever... but that really has nothing to do with talent either. Anyways, I've always been able to notice male acting talent better than female, probably because the male is usually the star of the movie, and the female is much more of a plot element or just an object in most films. Or at least that's how it seems in my opinion.
I guess I thought about it a little more, I think Charleze Therone and Catherine Zeta Jones are probably the best as far as talent goes who I can think of. Uma Therman also can play in a vareity of roles and pull them off quite well.

If the question is, who is the best actress ever, then it doesn't have to be someone well known, or even in the movies. Maybe the best actress ever will be found in our current crop of politicians.

Eutrusca, wasn't that Vivien Leigh in "Gone With the Wind"?
Elizabeth Taylor did "National Velvet" didn't she? I've seen part of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and she was really good in that.
Let's see who else whose movies I've actually seen - Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Helena Bonham-Carter, Kate Winslett, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchette, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Tatou, Angela Bassett, - I don't think I can pick one. In order to pick one, you'd have to put them all in the same movie, and judge their performances that way. Since some of these wonderful ladies are dead, it would seem impossible to choose.
