This is it! The last piece of the application I needed to get in...my score from the LSAT I wrote on the 3rd. I didn't do that great...I got a 157, which puts me in the 72% range, but coupled with my GPA, I think it just might be good enough to get me in.....!!!!

This is an early Christmas gift...I was told I'd have to wait until the first week of January to get my results.

Congratulations!

I'll tell you the reason you didn't get a higher score was doubtlessly some silly environmental factor that irritated your subconscious so much that you were unconciously distracted from the test. I'd bet it was a conspiracy by the freemasons. Those bastards, trying to keep you down with subliminal dust!

Kehehheee...I like your theory much better than the fact that I SUCK at analytical reasoning, of which there were two sections in the the test:)

Not so great, but I hope its good enough! Congratulations!!!

And you want to be a Lawyer?
Well, I didn't BOMB those sections...I'm just stronger in the logical reasoning and reading comprehension areas. I don't need to ace it all in order to be a good lawyer.

I've been told that the LSAT doesn't prepare you at all for law school, and law school doesn't prepare you at all for the Bar Exam:) So, we'll see how it all turns out!

Now that's the kind of congratulations I like!

Yeah, I hoped to do better...I was shooting for a 170, which was a bit out of the realm of possibility...I wrote six practice exams and never got above a 165. But I did fear I'd bombed it, and so it's good to know that while I didn't shine, I didn't get covered in crappy-crappiness either.

It'll be good enough and you'll do fine.

A good friend of mine is a very succesful lawyer. He pointed out the multi-million dollar wing on he law school he attended that was donated by a former student who had come in last in his class and barely passed the bar exam.

And no, nothing in life very frequently prepares you for the next step, particularly not school-wise.

Congratulations! I was worried for you because of the brain drain you had from the flu at the time of the test. Had it not been for that I wouldn't have been all that worried because you worked so hard to do a good job. Im so happy for you and am confident in your future success! Now you can be a rich lawyer and my sugar mama.

Ah well, that's true, about the hours not coming back...but I went into University as a student who found school easy. That meant I never learned how to study. It took me four and a half years of University before I really honed that skill. It's helped me in a lot of other practical ways in my career, so it's not really time wasted.

HEY! I forgot about that! I was totally out of it, and I still got a 157! So yay for me!!!

BTW, what is the LSAT?
Heheheheheeee...the Law School Admissions Test. It's a crazy test full of logic games, reading sections, analytical reasoning games and so on. It's supposed to demonstrate that you are not completely moronic, and can pass go. But not collect $200. In fact, you have to pay them $10,000 per year in tuition. But anywho...

Hahahahahahhaaa...if I'd just waited a few more years I could've slid in as a 'Mature student'...which just means 'old and defunct' not 'mature':)

They don't give you much leeway to lengthen the time used to finish the degree...not like my first degree which I could've taken 10 years to finish if I wanted.

But hey...if they want to provide me with transportation instead of me driving in and out of the city (an hour each way) every day, I don't CARE if it's a short bus!

I do, of course, get the reference...I'm being idiotically literal.

Hahaha....neither, really. I don't want to go into criminal law at all, except to be familiar enough with it to bail my activist friends out of jail:) I want to focus on aboriginal, tort, and immigration law. None of it really high paying stuff, but whatever. And if I don't get in this year, I'll keep trying until I do...it's something I've wanted for a long time.

What the hell is "defunt"? Is that when you have soemthing removed?

Most people on board the "tart cart" dont care. You can tell by the way they press their faces against the windows.

Possibly. I'll most likely be dealing with farm-hands and old people slipping on sidewalks where I live though...probably not much money there. I also forgot to mention that I'll be doing contract law as my bread and butter. I'm hoping to be able to have a small practice out in the country, and perhaps teach half time as well. We'll see.

Congrats! The LSAT is a monster of a test, but a percentile in the 70's is nothing to sneeze at. I got a 169 (97%) on the October 04 LSAT, but then wussed out on actually going to Law School. (My undergrad GPA was crap as calculated by Law School Admission Council, anyway).

Anyway, good luck! I'll bet you'll do very well.
