In the spirit of the current transitionary period between two calendar years, marked by a block of holiday allowance guaranteed by UK Government and EU labour rights legislation, I am departing to visit assorted family and friends for a series of lunch and dinner engagements.

In the meantime, I wish the secular / atheist / anti-materialist contingent of the General Forum a peaceful and relaxing year-end break from work and studies.

I'd love to return the gesture, I really would. But you see, the second I say "Happy Holidays" or any other non-denominational statement, I get attacked by Bill and his buddies. The second I start saying something else, I get set upon by the neo-yuppies and their PC friends.

So it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of arrangement. WHERE DID WE GO WRONG!?
