My Chem teacher introduced the semester with this problem and now that finals are over Ive been going through my stuff and found a paper about this. Can anyone figure it out? Oh and please DONT post the answer to the riddle on here. If you absolutely must prove your intelligence to me then TG me.

We've had this one before. It took me maybe.. 4-5 rolls last time.

Don't worry, I'm pretty certain everything has been talked about here. Repetition is nothing new.

Ok, I just figured it out in, oh, probably less than two minutes. It took me five or so rolls before I was sure I was right.

But it says "the smarter you were, the longer it took to figure it out." I guess I must be a real idiot. :p

Stop with the hacking! Its not fun if you just hack the page(although that would have taken a lot of stress off of me).

I never got it. I eventually had to cheat.

1) looking at the source is hardly hacking
2) like I said I completed it without looking in 2 rolls

Oh please, even somebody with the barest of math savvy can figure it out in less than five rolls.

But only barely.

I know because I have only the barest of math savvy, and I figured it out in less than five rolls.

But only barely.

That is quite possibly the easiest thing ever I figured it out in one try.

Then what does it take? This thing has me stumped.

Then what does it take? This thing has me stumped. It takes problem solving and Logic. It also helps to be a Genius such as I.

Ask yourself "Where's the rose? And where are the petals?"

One of my maths students showed this to me in the hope of getting an early lunch. He said if I couldn't solve it within five minutes, he was going to get food.

Sucker. :D

It's a load of old toss. Forget the respect you probably have for your teacher, forget maths and think abstractly (what is the rose, what are the petals). When you get it, you may feel like punching him.

Took me two hours of constant rolling the first time I saw this before I gave up and went to bed.

Within 3 minutes of thinking about the problem I had the answer.

So the solution is to take a break and just think about it.
