PA Judge says "Intelligent Design" cannot be taught!

Just saw on the news that a judge in Pennsylvania has ruled that "Intelligent Design" cannot be taught in public schools. I see this as a definite step in the right direction.
Darwin comes up with the 6 pointer in theorising evolution,
PA judge comes up for the conversion, and .... IT'S GOOD!!!
There is a place for ID in schools, and that's in theology discussions or phillosophy class!

Now Now. There's a big difference between disagreeing with someone, and crucifying them for their beliefs.

Now we give Bush an excuse to make schools teach it by executive order while bitching about activist judges. It's a win-win situation for crazy people.

nah, it's still pretty backwards. there are just a number of judges that still count as sane. which is why the democrats freak out about republican judicial nominations so much - they've been relying on judges for years to hold back the irrational tide. the republican posterboy judges actually dissented from the decision that kicked the young earthers out of science class.

Yeah, but it won't be long. The 14th Amendment holds individual States up to the Bill of Rights and, hence, individual States cannot violate the establishment clause of the First Amendment any more than Congress can and only one religion believes in Intelligent Design.
So give it time.

In his opinion, Jones said the key issue is ``whether Intelligent Design is science,'' and said, ``we have concluded that it is not.''
Jones said the concept of Intelligent Design, ``cannot uncouple itself from its creationist, and thus religious, antecedents.''

i didn't say that all republican appointees are on the crazy side, just their posterboys. when your posterboys are consistently wrong (even in cases where if they followed their own self-declared principles they would wind up being right), it tends to make people a little wary of everyone you propose.

It may not even take a challenge like that. The National Academy of Science is thinking about denying Kansas schools the use of their (copywrited) materials. Thing is, pretty much all science textbooks in the country are printed by them - and you have to use them to get No Child Left Behind credit. We'll see whether or not Kansas wants to go through with this when the result is to lose federal funding for their schools.

Well actually the white supremacists belong in current affairs. Or in civics as a bad example.
Really ID is just another attempt by the Creation Religion people to shove their silly conjecture into science classes and make all of our children into the kind ignorant boobs that would listen to them spout. FOX must have missed some.

Seriously, I hope this finally trips up the thinly veiled attack on the seperation of church and state that is ID.
