U.S. forces in Iraq are freeing "Dr Germ and "Mrs Anthrax", two of Saddam Hussein's leading biological warfare experts, following the failure to find weapons of mass destruction, lawyers said on Monday.
The US Military released a number of pretty high profile Ba'ath members, and among them are Rihab Rashida Taha (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3340765/) and Dr Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/3002103.stm).
Final admittance that there was no WMD Program? What do you say?

I really like this...put in their names, and you find things like "Iraq's 'Mrs. Anthrax' is key figure in weapons program" (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-0304110247apr11,1,217245.story?coll=chi-newsnationworld-utl&ctrack=1&cset=true).

Ach! I am not a member of Chicago tribune online, even though I had a 10yr subscription to their paper when I lived in CHicago!

Unfortunately, too many people are Busheviks, conveniently forgetting this little fly in the soup in the favor of believing Dear Leader's "We Invaded to Liberate the Oppressed People of Iraq" Bullshit Excuse Number Three.

But the link works, correct?

BBC picked up on it too now.
Does anyone know whether releasing them without charge really be a full admission that they were not involved with any sort of WMD program?

I'm confused. These guys admiited to working on chemical and biological weapons for a insane dictator and we are letting them off scott free?
What the hell man!?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean...but I'll tell you what I think.
Iraq was not allowed to build WMDs. Therefore, having such a program would be a crime of some sort.
The two people who would be the most likely to have been involved in such programs have now been freed without charge.
In other words: There never was a WMD program, and the US Government indirectly admitted it. Not only were there no weapons, but there were no attempts to get them.
Is Dr. Germ going to start a family practice?

Well, considering that she's "no longer a security risk"...maybe she'll open one opposite the White House? ;)

Why would their actions be any sort of crime? As citizens of Iraq, they were only subject to Iraqi law - which may well not have held such research as they were doing to be illegal.
Just because Iraq was required, by international agreement, which is not and never was law, to dismantle it's WMD systems, does not mean that anyone actually doing so in Iraq was guilty of anything.

Bullshit. The state could be charged with the crime, or perhaps the leader of the state. However unless the UN suddenly has sovereignity over the entire planet your point is pure fluff. Now, if the scientists had been directly involved in human tests you might have a legitimate argument. As it currently stands however, you have no argument.

It's Taha's award for telling us where she put the 1800 gallons of anthrax that UNSCOM said was unaccounted for. Or did you forget?

It makes sense to me.
I bet they are going to be watched to see where they go and who contacts them.
They are bait. How much do you want to bet that various terrorists will want to try to recruit them?
