Ever met someone so annoying?

I've known this girl for six years now. I'm 21, and she's 22. I met her when I was 15 and she was 16. I mean for the first few years we've dated, and had some fun. However, when I started college, we started to drift apart. She wasn't going to college, and didn't have any plan to. She basically had no marketable skills, and basically was using piss ass excuses not to go to college. Her main one was that she would "lose intrest." She even tried to use her brother as an example. However, her brother did spend several years in the US Marine Corps. I am now a senior at college, and she's still living at home with her mom and is living off of SSI checks. I mean she's a nice sweet girl, but I just can't have an intelligent converstation with her. I mean I love to talk about history, politics, and aviation. I can't talk to her about that, I just feel like I have to "dumb" down myself so I can talk to her. I mean I don't mean to sound like an ass, and I'm trying not to offend her. I dunno, I mean she is a nice sweet girl, but the fact that she is just lazy, unwilling to do anything for her future, and apparently still has the mind of a 16 year old is a major turn off. We are now not dating, but just friends. I tried to talk to her about this, but she just won't listen to reason. I really really would just want to end all communication with her and just move on. What is the best way to send this message home to her?

Also, how many of you have met equally annoying people?

Throw a boston tea-bag party for her.

Or just come at her from behind, and pull a bronco.

I live in a dead end section of the country where people do stuff like this all the time. Quite depressing.

typical "i've got a degree and you haven't" reaction, that... all my mates (bar one who's now manager at a local mcdonald's lol) have gone to uni and are in their final year now. me, i did two first years there and dropped out for personal reasons. they all treat me like i'm retarded or something - certainly lazy - and yet if we do engage in a debate i can pwn them in about 2 minutes flat, hah! plus i now work longer, harder and more intensely than i ever did at uni, and more so than i ever saw any of them do... *grumbles*

my point is maybe there's more to her story/situation than meets the eye.
she might really need a friend right now and dropping her like a wet fart could be cruel.

then again she could just be truly lazy/whatever

i don't see why any of that, either way, means you can't talk to her, or be friends with her, but there you go.
best way to get rid of her? i dunno. try just cutting her out of your life alltogether, not responding to phone calls or emails - leave her out in the cold - she'll get the message. not cool...

Literally hundreds of them, however, fret not. Almost all find out very soon after graduation and entering the work force that their false sense of superiority was foolish at best. Do yourself a favor and keep a lid on your superior state of being. You will be glad you did once you see first hand you are not nearly as smart as they have led you to believe you are.

Sounds to me that she'd be better off losing you. Boring? Start talking about "aviation", and that'll move you several notches toward your own slur.

Friends aren't there to entertain you, you, you. If you set standards for your friends like works hard/goes to college/likes planes, then you're a judgemental asshole anyways... not a friend. Do her a favor, and stop contacting her.
If I demanded that my friends enjoy discussing politics, amateur astronomy, theoritcal physics, and the like, I wouldn't have half of my friends. Instead, I'm okay with sharing a beer and joking around with them, or letting them tell me whatever's going on in their lives. So long as they have the courtesy to return the favor.

And college students are some of the most annoying people I ever meet in the real world. Ya know, the one where people my age have lots of experience instead of pieces of paper in lieu thereof. Don't overestimate yourself, and shortchange someone who might give a shit whether you live or die... unlike some people who'll talk lofty bullshit with you instead.

First off, I only use those things as an example. You litterly cannot have any type of intelligent converstation with her. I mean I don't mind bullshitting around either, and I do that with my other friends, but I can also have some pretty good exchanges with them too. With her it's like I dunno, it's like all I can talk to her about is kitty and sunshines. I mean I'm a cat lover too, but even I don't talk about kittens 24/7! And yes, I do make friends with people that has similiar intrest to my own. What's wrong with that? That how ALL of us make friends, so I guess we're all judgemental assholes. Also, yes I do like to be around people who work hard because that how I was raised by my parents. Both of my parents work their asses off to get where they are today, and me and my brother are doing the same. But her, she's just doing the bare minimum to get by. Do I think a college education is important, Yes I do. Why, because unless you have that "piece of worthless paper", the best you can do is jobs that she is not suited for. I litterly mean that her physical body cannot do the hard labor jobs. Hell even my body can't do the hard labor job day in, and out. That why I am in college. Nowandays, business, schools, everyone is going towards to what is up in your head, and not what you have to offer physically. Well except for prositution.

Like I said, she is a nice sweet girl, but because she is also lazy, willing to stay with mommy and live off of $300 (government check) a month, just irks me. I'm sorry if I'm a hard working asshole who get sick to his stomach when he sees other people who are capable of hard work, but refuse to do it.

I've known this girl for six years now. I'm 21, and she's 22. I met her when I was 15 and she was 16. I mean for the first few years we've dated, and had some fun....blah blah

You've known this girl for six years, you used to date and you admit you had fun with her. She's never intentionally wronged you, and she seems to be quite a loyal person, albeit lazy, and at this moment in time hasn't quite realised the importance of a career. Yes, she doesn't share the same interests as you, and she probably doesn't want to either. But that doesn't make her stupid, as you so bravely make her out to be.

I guarantee she wouldn't go onto an internet forum and make fun of you in front of people she doesn't know. Call yourself a friend? You're the type of person who believes they're better than someone because they don't have the same qualifications as you. No doubt you are able to work out difficult math problems, or write an essay about modern day politics - but I bet you are unable to peform CPR to a competent standard, be able to think quickly on your feet, or stay calm in an emotionally difficult situation.

I can't believe how much disloyalty you have managed to show in one post. I can easily imagine you don't have many real friends, even though you honestly believe you do. You're the type of person who corrects people's spelling mistakes, corrects their grammar, and repeats a word loudly and slowly if someone has failed to pronounce it properly. YOU are an annoying person. It's clearly written throughout your post.

I'm suspect you will reply with a clever and witty post which you spent many hours composing. But I do not care. One thing's for sure, come the weekend I'll be spending time with real mates (away from cyberspace!!) getting drunk, and will not have to worry about them telling people how "annoying" I am.

Oh, and tell this girl to her face if you think she's annoying. That would be the brave thing to do. Oh wait...

I got an AA in Commerical Arts (like having no degree at all, but the drug experiences I gained in art school were plenty!). I'm an entrepreneur, have been running my own design firm for the last 5 years, and make more money than most people I know who have loftier degrees. From my experience, degrees are really overpriced paper tokens, unless their in education, medicine or law. Not that they hurt, but they don't seem to help nearly as much as people think they do, and aren't worth 25% of what they paid for them. Again, disregad my comments if you're studying for a career in medicine, law or education.

Now hold up, I never called her stupid, you're just putting words in my mouth now. I may have called her lazy, but never stupid. and I have talked to her about religion and the Roman Catholic Church (a serious discussion) and all I get out of her is "I agree" and blah blah blah.

I guarantee she wouldn't go onto an internet forum and make fun of you in front of people she doesn't know. Call yourself a friend? You're the type of person who believes they're better than someone because they don't have the same qualifications as you.

My dad just went to college in his 40's, and I would consider it to be an honor if I could be half the man that he is now. I have friends who never went to college, and they are pretty cool. However the same friends did work their asses off and got jobs, they didn't wait around for a government check. The problem is not the qualifications, the problem is her refusal to put forth any effort into anything.

No doubt you are able to work out difficult math problems, or write an essay about modern day politics - but I bet you are unable to peform CPR to a competent standard, be able to think quickly on your feet, or stay calm in an emotionally difficult situation.

Certified to give CPR, and have you EVER been in an airplane and approaching a cold front? You have two options in that scenerio, either go through the rough winds, turbalance, and go into an IFR condition, OR turn around and land at an airport and wait out the storm. I have encounter that problem and many others while in the air, from a door opening to an engine cutting off, I have remained calm in all difficult situation.

I can't believe how much disloyalty you have managed to show in one post. I can easily imagine you don't have many real friends, even though you honestly believe you do.

You're right, I don't have many friends, and that never really bothered me.

Well 2 things. First of all, I really don't think that poor people are lazy at all, i just wanted to incite a little argument. My apologies. Secondly, didn't you kind of disprove what you tried to say.
