The Art of War
Anybody here ever read The Art of War by Sun Tzu? I found it really interesting, and I found the chapter 'Attack By Fire' pretty much out there.
I did have the book but I lossed it... so Im still crabby... good book though
their was a quote their that I found intresting.
"Know yourself and Know your enemie... and you shall be victorious, Know yourself but not the enemy... and it's 50/50, don't know neither your screw."
something like that... I loss the book... so I don't remeber much.

"So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle."
An interesting read. Some of the stuff would seem obvious or just not applicable anymore these days, but you get an insight into Chinese warfare and the basics of winning a war. I've heard nothing but good things about Clausewitz's On War if you're interested.

Read it as part of an assignment for promotion in Martial Arts. Well worth the read if you havent read it.
Sun Tsu will always remain one of the greatest...
I'm not very good at reading Chinese, I can mostly just speak it, so I had to have my dad translate it because despite having tons of book stores, I could only find a Mandarin version of it.
Excellent read, nothing to live by, but gives you a good glimpse into the train of thought.

Yeah, true. But it's handy in a fight.

Mine was a comic-book version:( not too good in a fight, before you say anything it was a correct adaptation of the book that contains all the information just with diagrams as well.

Yeah! I applied the Seven Rules of war to Iraq, and I found that the USA win in three aspects, iraqi rebels in other three, and both draw in the last. It explained me some things, like why can't the USA troops control the situation.

As a general parameter for how to fight battles, it's excellent in my opinion. You just have to replace "chariots" with stuff like main battle tanks or IFVs, but many of his points are spot on. That's why that book is the stuff of legend.

Wonderful book, I realy hope my grandfather gets me my own copy for christmas(since I lost my own).
Also, it works great for those tricky situations in your relationships.
All warfare is based on deception.
Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable;
when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we
are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away;
when far away, we must make him believe we are near.
