Which band would you bring back?

Of all the defunct bands in the world, which one would you most like to re-unite?
For me, it would have to be the Smiths. Maybe Morrissey has become less obsessive in the past 20 years.

That hasn't stopped Keith Richards from playing with the Stones.

Resurrect Jerry Garcia and get the Dead back together.

Or bring back Duane and get the Allman Brothers on stage again.

...And if any of you happen to have any M,M & M on .mp3, send me a TG ASAP, willya? It's tough having songs stuck in your head when you haven't heard them in ten years.

"Shiva Space Machine" rocks, but I can only remember the refrain... and maybe only half of that, at best.

They don't have Dicky Betts, either. It's like going to watch the 'Original' Iron Butterfly and seeing a bunch of replacements for replacements. Seven Turns was probably the last good album that they produced. It wasn't as good as the stuff from their heyday, though.

I'll second (or what is it, fourth?) Pink Floyd, this time long enough for me to see them without a MTV VeeJay cutting in halfway through the fucking song. How 'bout remounting The Wall? Or, you know, something new. Or Wish You Where Here.

Soul Coughing would be nice.

As far as I know The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are no more, which sucks for...me, I guess. If you've only heard Zoot Suit Riot I don't want to hear it from you.

From zombie land, 'The Quintet,' Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Bud Powell, Charles Mingus and Max Roach.

Or, the other one-Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams. (I saw this sans Miles Davis, kickass)

Or the Kind of Blue line up with John Coltrane and Cannonball Adderley.

Or the John Coltrane line ups with Eric Dolphy. Or Eric Dolphy with Charles Mingus. Or just Eric Dolphy.

The Money Jungle line up-Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Max Roach.

The Count Basie Band with Lester Young (I'm wearing a Pork Pie hat right now.)

queen with freddy, not in their current frankenstein incarnationI actually found Paul Rogers to be pretty good when I saw them back in May. However, of course I would much rather have seen them with Freddie. John Deacon has retired from music nowadays, but it would have been cool if he could have joined them for this tour. We can't have Freddie back, sadly, so the three remaining members would have been the next best thing.

So, Queen would be the band I'd most like to see resurrected, but I'd also love to see The Who and the old Metallica back.
