I like quiche, but thats beside the point. As an Australian, I believe I have a duty to put it straight: A pie has meat, or at least meat by-pruducts, in it with an equal portion of gravy, or gravy by-product, in puff pastry. Any other pie is an American dessert.

As an American I must say that the pumpkin pie cheesecake with whipped cream, caramel sauce and crumbled ginger snaps I had tonight after dinner was exquisite. However, in recognition of my upbringing in Britain and in acknowledgement of Svalbardania's thoughts, the steak pie I will have at my mum's house next Friday will be even more wonderful.
