This is a big article that was in Popular Science Sept. 05 that I was recommended to read by a friend. I have already finished the "Artificial Wombs" article and found it a fascinating read. I can only hope that this will be the future of humanity, a future in which we take CONTROL of our own evolution and perfect ourselves with genetic modification and machine augmentation.

Why leave things to "god" and "fate" when we can do better?

People tend to find it shocking that I tell them that I believe in Human Cloning (because it can give us an unlimited supply of organs that are 100% guaranteed NOT to be rejected by the body, because those organs are yours on a genetic level). But I feel that we got lucky with evolution so far but that we can't rely on luck forever, we need to take CHARGE of things before we begin to develop in ways we can't safely predict.

I did like that issue, but the stuff in it is just the tip of the iceberg. Read Kurzweil for real crazy shit.

Where does the Bible say that God frowns on humans improving themselves through purely natural (as in, not supernatural,) means? Anyone got a scriptural quote about that?

Maybe electricity is sinful too. It's magic, you know.

Shut up!

Don't give them any ideas. They'd have us back to no indoor plumbing and wiping our asses with leaves if they thought they could get away with it.

Before you proceed to create genetically enhanced superhumans, start with destroying the mob instinct. An individual person is smart, but people as groups are stupid, reckless, irrational, ignorant, violent, animals.

Why have super humans when you can have the Borg?

Uhm doesn't that stand as a principle tenet in Amish philosophy?
I admit i don't understand them as much as i should, but i certainly admire their fashion sense.

It's a tragedy that the Amish are severely underrepresented in online communities.

What, is that Digitization without Representation?

Someone needs to take this case to the people!! Rights!
I wonder also how that would look in light of DeLay's current admonishment over the gerrymandering of '03 that Willie Nelson sent that liquor to those Dems because they split so quorum couldn't be reached.
Is DeLay f*cking over the wood-workin' man? That bastard!!!
