Well, we all know most people regard it as part of the great game. But is it really a good part? Are all the wankers who whine about it actually onto something? Or are they just pussies who can't hack it?
Personally, I think the latter. Grow up and be men.

I don't watch or play sports, but what I will say is this; if you don't like it, don't get involved; sports is about showing the other team who is in control, and yes, sledging is part of the whole plan of trying to psychologically break down the player - no different to a crowd singing a derogatory song.

It's part of the game.
People who whine about it should shut the fuck up. Anway, I rather be sledged than hit by a 90 mile an hour fast ball, and that's okay too.
No problem with it, it's poart of the game. Anyway it just fires me up and gets me going.

Sledging's part of the game. Not only in cricket, but in any sport.

Not only is it integral to the psychology of sports but it's damn good entertainment too!
eg. Flintoff vs. Tino (West?) last year in a ODI; "Watch the windows Tino" next ball he tried to smash for 6 and was run out.
You can't beat a bit of banter.
There are many amusing examples quoted in Wikipedia:

I never played myself competitively, but it's part of the game, and good for concentration anyways. I'd rather be on my guard if Brett Lee fires what is for all intents and purposes a rock at me with 160km/h.
But it's better if it's funny. You can break concentration just as well if you make the other guy laugh. Like Warney at the last test against the Windies with Powell...I pissed myself..

I love sledging, and it pisses me off when I bat, so I think it's an integral part of the game. We've come up with some good ones over the years, although as the scores get tighter, it does tend to descend into "Your mum's a ****" or similar.
