Coffee Kicks Ass!

You can keep yer designer drugs and yer cocaine, I just finished 3 double cafe con leches with a shot of amaretto on the side (just the one shot, not one for each coffee) and I feel incredibly buzzed. In a really good way. I've been dancing and singing to my .mp3s for a while, now...

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

Anybody else like coffee? Anybody else as hyperactive as I am right now? Huh? Huh?:D

I seriously doubt that I'm even close to being as hyper as you are ... ever!

But I do like my coffee. My coffee has been designated as a highly volitile substance by the Environmental Protection Agency, and most fundamentalists refer to it as "evil" or "an invention of the devil!" If I can't make the spoon stand up straight without touching it, it's not strong enough! :D

A year ago I'd've agreed, but working for a spell as a barrista got me hooked on the good stuff. I really dig the light roasts. Really. Really. Really. Dig 'em. I swear, I used to find the stuff repellent - I liked cola for a caffeine buzz, or tea for something hot in the morning or afternoon - but now it's the heated juices of that browned bean that fuels my fire.

It's... it's... it's frickin' AWESOME! (I never got a kick like this from the nose candy, I'll tell you that much.)

Cost is definitely a factor, but so is efficacy. I had some considerable amount in a few goes with no apparent effect. I decided it simply wasn't worth pursuing. But from what I can tell, for me anyway, this is pretty much what that other stuff does for some folks.

Hmm, maybe it is just a British thing. But it is a powdery white powder (that looks not unlike cocaine) which is practically pure teeth watering sugar.

Quite nice if getting a jump start on type II diabetes is your thing :)

Coffee almost got me in trouble. Coffee is evil. I had to go to work extra early one morning for a meeting with our new accountant so I hit up the corner market to get an "Upshot". If nobody knows what that is, it's like concentrated meth in a bottle.

The corner market was all out of it and the lady behind the counter said, "Here! Try this. It's put out by Starbucks." Sounds safe, right? So I bought it and drove off to work.

I got to work 10 minutes before the meeting, met up with two other supervisors, whipped out my little concetrated coffee in a bottle and downed it. Bad idea. Turns out the thing had alohol in it. Fortunately, with a stick or two of gum and a glazed look of interest, I made it through the meeting.

Anyway, I'm a bit of a caffine addict. I have about 30 packs of chocolate raspberry up here. It is orgasmic.

Whenever I go to the place my friends parents own, they make me my own pot, and just throw a straw in. Yes, it is actually that bad.

Not all coffee is created equal though. IMO, the best variety of coffee would be celebes kalossi. If you have never had any, take a really good Sumatran coffee, and multiply the flavor by four.

The worst would be black and white generic label coffee. I don't know what kind of coffee it is made from, but I'm sure bark chips should be on the ingredient listing somewhere.

Almost as bad, but not quite: Kona. It's weak and overpriced.

Espresso (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espresso).

I went overboard with caffeine once, with the twitching, sweating, rapid heartbeat, etc. I don't recall being hyper, just very awake. I ordered a latte with the "special" espresso that the store calls "black tiger." I think I might have begun to cross the line between "buzz" and "toxic" :D

Every morning, I have a pot of Gold Coast coffee made extra strong.

And on my way to work, I stop off and get a 5-shot venti caramel macchiato.

I usually have one more before I drive home.
