so. I was supposed to go home tomorrow right after my exam, at 2:30. I would have been home by 5. This means that me and my sister would have plenty of time to get cleaned up. I was very excited because my mother is graduating.

Now, because of the ice/snow storm coming, there is a good chance I won't be able to get home any time tomorrow, let alone in time for her graduation.

So, my issue is this. I really wanted to be there. i am very proud of her for graduating, and she sounded so happy when me and my sister both said we would be able to get home in time for it.

Now, if I miss it, I feel like I should do something. I know she understands that the weather can't be stopped, and would rather have us safe, but I also know that she will be disappointed. She's worked hard, and its nice to have the family there.

So my question is what is something nice I could do for her? I don't have lots of money, but what do people think is something my sister and I can do to sort of make up for not being able to get home? Any advice would be great.

One of my friends was unable to be at the graduation of a friend, so she threw a graduation party at her house. They set it all up with the framed certificate and food and wine and stuff, and had a little "graduation ceremony" for her. They even made her robes and a hat to wear (coz she only hired the robes she wore to the official graduation). You could do that...
