I just realized.

My last final was today (I bombed, damn you math!). So to hell with this, who wants to go play Half-Life 2, Unreal Tournament 2004, or something else I own.

No, it's a piece of crap. I downloaded it once. The longest I was able to play at one time was 5 minutes because the "anti-cheating" code is a flaming piece of crap and kept booting me inexplicably.

Well's here's hoping your math prof will curve like a waitress at Hooter's.
Maybe you didn't do as poorly as you think. Or maybe everybody else did substantially worse...

No, I bombed two entire problems. I completely forgot how to do them.

Like 18. So assuming I did nothing else wrong (), I probably didn't get an A since they were major problems.

Bummer, but a high B is respectable. You left them completely blank, you didn't show some kind of work, so the prof could give you some kind of credit?

Or do you have one of those all-or-nothing profs that cuts all your points if you use a notation he doesn't like?

Well...maybe the answer to the problems was "the null set", and a blank space counts...

Even with partial credit on all problems on the test and the minimal extra credit correct, I will be lucky to make a B on the test, extremely lucky to make an A, and a miracle worthy of a movie incarnation if I pass the class with a B.

Was your attendance bad? Didn't do the reading? Didn't do the problem sets?

I feel for you. A flushed exam sucks.

I just can't do math.

I just can't do math.

I know how you feel, I have no gift for biology. Or languages. Or history. Music, art, the thing where you have to run around climb things...

Well, does passing this class satisfy your math requirement for your diploma program?

I have to get a minor in math.

I have to get a minor in math.

As part of a physics or comp-sci program or something? If you honestly feel you can't "do" math, are you ready to put the hours in to hack through it anyway? I'll bet you make it...maybe you'll find yourself more at home in different branches of math.
