I hate the WTO

I really hate the WTO.

On Sunday I went shopping for some furniture. I saw a corner desk perfect for the computer I intend to buy in the very near future. It was on sale - half-price - so I quickly paid for it.
I was then told that they can't deliver it until Thursday 23rd at the earliest, due to the roads around Hong Kong CBD all being closed for the WTO conference.

Those bastards. I now have a lovely desk gathering dust in a warehouse somewhere due to them.

So, if you see some guy on TV at the WTO protests waving a placard saying 'Fuck you WTO, I want my fucking desk!!' you'll know who it is.
I'm seriously thinking of going down there and getting the Korean farmers to join me in a chant:
"What do we want?"
"His fucking desk!"
"When do we want it?"
"This week, ideally between the hours of 5pm and 8pm!"

I don't like the WTO either [which may surprise some of you], but there is a metric fuckton of better reasons to hate it than this.

What's the problem? Get some friends, find out from the store where the warehouse is located, get the desk, and carry it home. Easy, just make sure you have plenty of cold beer at home for your friends. :D :D

Well, I like that the WTO ruled in Canada's favour (http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20051205/wto_ruling_051205/20051206?hub=Canada).

Naw, it would mean carrying it through the Kowloon-HK tunnel, which is closed. I think trying to sneak a large heavy box past several hundred armed police through a closed tunnel is probably asking for trouble.

Not in this case. It upheld the terms of the U.S./Canada Free Trade Treaty, which was supposed to 'level the playing-field' between our two nations. Hey, it was the Americans who approached us on Free Trade, not the other way 'round.

I'm glad the WTO was there to stick up for us!

You could put it in the water, get on top, and paddle it across. :D
