So, basically, you're assuming that she cheated.

At the time, the penalty for raping an engaged woman was death, and there was no punishment for the woman.

actually, if you read leviticus 20, apparently, the penalty was not death, but a scourging.

Only a little less harsh than death.

Only a little less harsh than death. I was taking it from the later Deuteronomic book of law. I can't remember which one was used for the Exodus.

What is a scourging anyway?

What is a scourging anyway? Repeated flogging with a spiked whip.

What is a scourging anyway?

One of the more painful things you can imagine. Whips with shards of glass, metal, thorns, beads, whatever, embedded in them. The whip would be thrown across the back extremely hard and then removed with a flick of the wrist in such a way as to remove the flesh. They were also long enough to be removing skin from your chest as well, even if they were hitting you from the back. People often died as a result, but usually the scourgers were 'skillful' enough to bring you only as close to as possible without you actually dying. And we arent just talking 5 hits here... dozens.

Catholics worship Mary: Catholics venerate Mary. In the same way a person admires a football star, but does not worship them in the same way they practice a religion..

Ive argued this many times.

Catholics most certainly do worship Mary, in every definition of the word.
They simply do not consider her a divine entity.
However, they pray to her, and idolize her, and according to every definition of the word "Worship"....Catholics most certainly do worship Mary.
