Racism...

My belief: It is a racist social policy to personally maintain that it is appropriate for black people to say "******" when speaking to or of other people, while also claiming that white people do not reserve the privilege of being allowed to use the word "******".
What is your take on my opinion? Do you agree/disagree? Why?
Note: Do not let this degenerate into a flame war. Racism and insults will not be tolerated. It is a philosophical discussion on the nature of a prevelant societal stigma.

I don't believe my government has formulated a specific social policy governing the use of racial slurs.. so I dunno who's enforcing it.
That said, I'm all for racial slurs, if they're funny.. most aren't.

agree, I would also like to extend that policy a bit. Afirmitive action = racist. Any race being able to use any terms that another race cannot use = racist. You get the drift?

I'm not sure how much I agree with that. Affirmative action is a realistically 'necessary' or at least societally justifiable policy. It's not only beneficial, but it is founded upon a realistic perspective of socio-economic positions based on racial categories. Maybe further (or better) brightlines are needed, but I see a lot of justification for affirmative action.

****** means different things in different contexts. If a mulatto was calling someone a ****** because they want to differentiate themselves from them, it would make sense to object. Most of the time when black people use the term ****** it's a term of empowerment. It's hard for whites to get the same effect out of it. It's like how if Mel Brooks wasn't Jewish people would probably be a lot more angry at him.
Racism of any form is a delusion in and of itself, as it is my belief that there is no "race" and that we are all one species.
Honestly, what's the point in racism and racial hatred? It has been shown that the genetic difference between people is incredibly small, so there is no "purity" to protect. By the same token history has also shown that hatred leads to violence, which is detrimental to society.
What do I think about "******"? I really have no opinion. As much as I hate racism, it is protected on both sides by free speech laws.

in my opinion there is a difference between being racist and being politically incorrect. i personally hate having to be politically correct but am firmly against racism (or most degredational isms for that matter).
but isnt crossing the p.c. line fun? thats how most comedians get there laughs. therein, robin williams rises above dave chapelle.

What's the difference, people don't use the word ****** anymore. They use the word Ninja. A point that I though was main clear in the movie Leprechaun, Back to tha Hood.
I bet most of you never even watched that movie.

This 'existentialist' argument is somewhat of a kritik, though, isn't it? It's an interesting point to consider, but it doesn't have much bearing on the argument itself.

Why should genetics matter when differentiating people? Country music stars are probably almost genetically identical to you, that doesn't mean they shouldn't be classified differently.
