Iran is a civilized nation. You would have been better off saying "Western Civilised".

I voted America, mainly because the Bush administration lies through its teeth (and I dont like American tourists) but it was a tough call between America and France.

EDIT: And before someone deigns to point out that there are Eastern nations on there too, I said Western since the majority of the list is made up of nations which would be considered "Western" (USA, France etc, and, to a lesser extent, one could argue that Japan was more of a Western Civilisation, though thats for another topic).

I picked 'other' because for me it is really a toss up--I have some distaste for things Britain has done, The United States, Japan, and Germany--so really I dont dislike any other nations as much as those(and that really isnt that much anyway).

China is kind of fecked--but we are talking personal opinion and the situation there isnt first in my mind.

I guess i will list my dislikes--

The US fecked and continues to Feck the Native America(I dont care about debating its my opinion.) I still love her though.

England--fecked the Irish--with a big shite eating grin, and somehow ignorant twits find ways to validate this. Of course the world wouldnt be waht it is today without the Great Empire, I do give respect where it is due.

Japan well, they grifted by on atrocites that had German SS officers writting back to the good 'Ol Furer to ask for him to petition the Japanese to be more even handed--SS asking for kindness--how fecking mean do you have to be for that?!

Germany--well more precisely the Nazis(I know there is a distinction nobody get all crazy on me) pick up any history book and read a few chapters on the 20th century--it'll be in there(unlike what the Japanese did to the Chinese).


That being said I dont have a particular HATE for any--beside my own administration at the moment, and since I live here I am entitled to.

Agreed, for once! I cant stand when people bring up Germany's Nazi past in relation to present day Germany and more than I can when people bring up Slave owning America in relation to present day America.

yes.. the backstabbing part is from ww2 when hitler had france at its knees mussolni sent 32 divisions and was anhilated by 8 FRENCH divisions they had to use poison gas and machine guns against ethiopia's spearmen... they did beat albania though.... got cut up in greece costing hitler valuable time versus the russians....

Of course that all depends on the definition of "civilized" you use. By the standard modern definition, exactly so. By the definition of the Ancient Greeks (from which the concept comes from, but has changed dramatically), I'd be hard pressed to say there are any civilized states anywhere. Certainly non of them are on the poll. ;)

USA. As a Liberal American (as in Anarcho-syndicalism Liberal born in the USA, not F***ing stupid Neo-Liberal born in the USA), I am utterly disgusted at what "my" nation has become. The leaders are no longer serving the interests of the people (not that they ever really were, but we're further away than we've ever been); now, they just want to rape the people's rights and allow mega-corporations to do whatever they please. It's pathetic what the USA has become... I completely understand why terrorists hate the USA (not that I condone terrorist attacks; on the contrary, I despise the terrorists for using these tactics).

Yes, I must agree with you here. You either love a country or leave it. If they want to keep their "traditions" and so on they can do so in their own countries without poisoning our own ones. This is hardly racist, so anyone who is so weak-minded as to brand it as such must wake up. Foreigners refusing to integrate into a society breeds racism, not vice-versa. Does anyone here honestly think that if Afro-Americans did not integrate in the USA that they would be tolerated?...Please :rolleyes: Yet they have integrated, and are becoming all the more integrated all the time, to their credit I may add.

Since every nation on earth has a writing system (either homegrown or imported), that would mean that they're all civilized. The question then reduces to "What's your least favorite nation?"

Anyone who has a brain and believes in the Western tradition of liberty will have no problems picking out the Chinese government as the real enemy here. France's government and economic system is messed up and its people (IMO) absurd, but I'm not even going to think about considering it as bad as China.

The only people who can even think about picking the USA are those particularily disgusted by our complete lack of backbone as Taiwan is bullied around by China. Or maybe Israel, because we are wusses when it comes to Iran, or heck, even about getting tough with terrorists in Iraq. If I was from South Korea I'd be a little unnerved as well, because it's possible based on the timing of an invasion that the US wouldn't even help us out. Did they even speak French? :rolleyes: I applaud France for the way it treats its English tourists. If you visit a country, you should make an effort to learn some of its basic phrases and so on. You may say oh but the English are so polite...it is easy for them since English is an international language. :rolleyes: The French are particularly resentful towards English speakers because of their relationship with the UK, and now the USA. Its an attempt of theirs to keep their country from being overriden by Anglo-saxon influences. Oh, and might I say, George Bush really does all English speakers a credit, what with his marvellous command of the language. :rolleyes: And who can forget "the French don't even have a word for entrepreneur." Let your cousins go to Japan, a country of strict customs and rituals, and break a couple of Japanese customs, and see how they will be received by the Japanese.

The best thing their government could come up with was an assortment of concessions and ever-so-stereotypical French "surrenders". A pity they were all too dumb to listen to that Sarkozy fellow, who called the rioters what they were and would have probably crushed their lawless destruction of property in a day or two had he been allowed his way.

As for radical Islam, I'm afraid of radical Islam. You should be too, because it is their doctrine to oppress and forcibly convert all non-Muslim heathens. And we are both non-Muslim heathens, I am assuming. Maybe you haven't ever heard about this place called Iran, or this fellow called al-Zarqawi, or this other one called Bin Laden. Yeah, America isn't perfect. The Republicans have abandoned their economic principles in favor of big government, and socialistic principles still are enshrined in our laws and our thinking. Socialism is of the same brand of crime against liberty as is restrincting freedoms on the basis of religion or morality. Whatever happened to the spirit of Thomas Jefferson:

"That government is best, which governs least"?

The best thing their government could come up with was an assortment of concessions and ever-so-stereotypical French "surrenders". A pity they were all too dumb to listen to that Sarkozy fellow, who called the rioters what they were and would have probably crushed their lawless destruction of property in a day or two had he been allowed his way.

As for radical Islam, I'm afraid of radical Islam. You should be too, because it is their doctrine to oppress and forcibly convert all non-Muslim heathens. And we are both non-Muslim heathens, I am assuming. Maybe you haven't ever heard about this place called Iran, or this fellow called al-Zarqawi, or this other one called Bin Laden. to your point, the point is they look white American.

Due to the French s' reputation, my point is they are white, not black, dark lite hispanic, dark hispanic, not darker skin muslims, so I eliminated race as an issue and this was before President George W Bush became president, and they still felt the French rude and unfriendly towards Americans, they said they did not have a nice vacation in France.
