I'm not close enough to the cronulla area to have first-hand experience but the media seems to indicate there was more violence last night.

Rumour also has it that it is set to continue.

The photo you see in that article you posted came from the weekends rioting and not last nights.

There was more last night. Plus, we now have some of these fuckheads sending text messages calling for "straight out WAR"

Admittedly, we also have a well-known group of surfers and a Lebanese Muslim leader calling for calm, so hopefully they'll be heard, but I doubt it.

Correction: Bullets were fired outside a catholic primary school, during a carol service. No people were injured, but there was bullet damage to cars and buildings.

That's only recently.

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone here that doesn't have a diverse background. And even with our current policies, I believe that we take more immigrants per head of population than nearly all other western nations.

Send in the army:) But seriously though, a greater police presence needs to be put in place immediately, and not just breaking up fights but arresting the instigators. I'm not sure anyone will complain if Sydney and even greater NSW is a police state until this is under control. Me keeps on wondering if this isn't race violence, but bogan violence, not to be racist but it's hard not to find a Lebanese 'group' who doesn't bignote the fact that they are lebanese, while the other side are drunk bogans who seem to have all their shirts in the wash:rolleyes:, both sides are terrible representations, if that, of their culture.

Sweet. Sydneys finally getting some attention baby!

The riots are spreading all through Sydneys south, and now to other capitals supposedly. Well, arrangements have been made; we'll see how they turn out. Myself, living on the North Shore, haven't actually seen anything first-hand. But I know a few people that have and they say it's terrible.
