What was the first record, 8-trak. tape, or CD you ever purchased?
My parents had a pretty good record/8-trak collection growing up, so I didn't actually need to buy anything until I was about 8, and then I purchased...
The Mamas and Papas "If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears"
8-trak and casettes are ahead of my time (not to say I never bought vinyl). First CD I think was one of those mix CDs with hits on the charts at the time. I might have been 9 or 10.

I think the first music I ever bought with my own money was a vinyl LP with songs about Batman. I was 6.

I can't remember. It was an LP (vynil) and I think it had to do with disco music. I must have been 8 or 9 at the time, so leave me alone.
The first one I distinctively remember getting, however, is John Cougar Mellencamp's Scarecrow.
