Those considered to be "Baby Boomers," i.e. born between 1946 and 1964, will begin turning sixty years old THIS January! With the expected increases in life expectancy, most of them are probably going to be with us at least another 20-30 years! OMFG!

I wanna stick around long enough to see the majority of them kick the frakking bucket, primarily because I want to find out if they can screw up retirement like they've screwed up everything else their grubby lil hands have touched! :D

Like my dad always says, his proudest achievement in life was being born in
'43.. avioiding the insult of being lumped in with that generation..

I for one won't be sorry to see that particular generation go, if only because I'm tired of them telling me that I'm a lesser form of life for not being one of them. That got old a long, long time ago.

And I'm tired of having to clean up their messes. And boy, have they left us with a lot of them. Maybe we'll get lucky and some mutant virus will wipe all of them out before they can totally drain the Social Security fund. Bird flu, anyone?

What this means in lump is that we will soon find out how financially responsible that generation is. Sure they will be a drain on Social Security, but I think there are some pros of this group. For one, most people (like my dad) that are in that age bracket just seem to want to work longer. THis will mean they are more than paying their share into the Social Security and Medicare System. 2nd, when those soon to be elderly start retiring in masses, this will open up some much needed non-service industry jobs to college graduates. That and the casinos can always use the business, old people Looooooooooooooooove to gamble..

Yes, I can't wait for the day when the Chinese suddenly start demanding their loaned money back. Personally, I'm for taking it out of the retirement funds of boomers: living their waning years on dog food would be a fitting punishment for the costs they've inflicted on this country in the interests of pure decadence.
