Well, the time has come.
I've turned 16 and recieved my license at last.

Now, I know no bids have gone up yet. Thats because I know the seller, and if he doesn't sell it on Ebay, He's selling it to me.
I'll have to get the pistons ground, and possibly a bit of other menial work done to it (Put on a roof, doors and seatbelts).

Actually that would be a pretty pimp first ride. I wish I had driven a Manx Dune Buggy in high school. Hope it works out for you. (Prepare now for current or future girlfriends bitching about being cold or uncomfortable. Try something better than 'suck it up,' apparently that doesn't work so well...)

But yeah, seems a good choice for a 16 year old, probably doesn't have the power to get away from you in normal driving.

I wouldn't be so sure. Those jeeps were used in WW2, and had about 150 hp under the hood.
That doesn't sound like too much, but with something that light (under 1000 lbs), it'll get you moving pretty good.
And if my girlfriend bitches about it, I revoke her padded seat privelage and make her sit in the bed.

Meh....did you look at the engine it comes with? Willy's commercial engine, from 1958... not original.
Still, rough estimate though. Lets compromise and call it about 72 hp; I need that ego boost.
And 60 hp can still move a light car pretty well.

Cars suck, you only want one due to peer pressure.
You should probably get a heater, insilation, and a more comfy passanger seat (for the Ladies). Does it have a roof? The insilation would be useless without it.
