Methos, from the Highlander series. As a whole, the series was ok sometimes, and downright bad at others but it did spawn one of my favorite characters of any book, movie, tv show of all times.

Sam, from Lord of the Rings is right up there too though, don't really know which one I like more than the other. Book Sam and movie Sam are beyond great, the true hero of the story.

Ignatius Reilly in the book Confederacy of Dunces.

"A green hunting cap squeezed the top of the fleshy balloon of a head. The green earflaps, full of large ears and uncut hair and the fine bristles that grew in the ears themselves, stuck out on either side like turn signals indicating two directions at once. Full, pursed lips protruded beneath the bushy black moustache and, at their corners, sand into little folds filled with disapproval and potato chip crumbs."

"Then you must begin a reading program immediately so that you may understand the crises of our age," Ignatius said solemnly. "Begin with the late Romans, including Boethius, of course. Then you should dip rather extensively into early Medieval. You may skip the Renaissance and the Enlightenment. That is mostly dangerous propaganda. Now that I think of it, you had better skip the Romantics and the Victorians. For the contemporary period, you should study some selected comic books."

That character from Batman. You know, the one that's a thinly veiled anti-semitic stereotype. Oh wait, that's all of them...

In actuality...not sure. I like that receptionist David Spade did on Saturday Night Live.
Jesus: "My son, I have returned for my second coming, to spread my message of purity worldwide"
Receptionist: "And you are?"

That guy was classic, but Will Ferrell's rendition of Harry Karry (sp?) was the best ever. Even Jeff Goldblum couldn't keep a straight face.

I guess the actor was rather humerous, but the concept of Q was so incredibly cheep - not really up to the par of inteligence I expect from trek.

no the concept of the character is weak, i agree. but once you just accept that, the actual character is cool and the actor (forget his name) is awesome :p

i like Q in the same sort of 'break-from-seriousness' or for the same sort of comedy value i like star trek 4
