tunes that you just cannot shake loose

At the moment I have "we're off to see the Tiddly peops on the road we go" from the hoobs bouncing around my head like a demented Bumble bee,

apart from a few other tunes I can normally shake them loose, are there any tunes that you ever get stuck in your brain for no apparent reason?

(Hocus Pocus from Focus the yodel gets me everytime)
ARRRRGH!!!!
Ok now I have Focus, (must not think of Smurfs....)
and so the cycle continues...

In Germany they call these tunes 'earworms', with I think appropriately conveys their annoyingness. I usually find Kylie's dance tracks drive me insane in that way.

Ah, I wish I had Kylie bouncing around my head.:D

No, whenever I get an earworm, it's usually something dark and weird, like "Freak on a Leash" from Korn.

Some things are not too bad to get stuck in your head, but undoubtedly the worst is "Rubber Duckie" from Sesame Street. That's one of those that make you wish you could rip open your skull and claw your own brain out.

For reasons that I don't understand, every once in while I get the theme to I Dream of Jeannie stuck in my head. I haven't seen that show in ages (ever since I moved to a place that doesn't have TV Land as part of its basic cable package. But still, I'll be walking along minding my own business and...doo dat, doot doot ta doo dat....dammit.

that sounds annoying luckily I don't think I have ever heard it...
although the name of it kickstarted that stupid Ketchup song in my noggin
at least it displaced the Smurfs.

MacDonalds MacDonalds kentucky fried cicken and a Pizza Hut.

Time too call out the big guns and see if I can displace it with the cartoons witchdoctor or maybe some devo Secret Agent an or Pink Pussycat normally works and Ironically so does SIB

I tink I a more susceptable than most it only takes one worm to get hold and they seem to multiply rapidly I am now able to swap 1 highly irritating ditty out of my head only to replace it with another, have now moved from Rubber frikken Duckie to the Pinball machine tune off SStreet as well (and after reading the next post have got the tune to bewitched going on as well in different ears)

Ever since getting a DVD set of The Muppet Show, I've had this song stuck in my head: Mahna Mahna (http://www.devilducky.com/media/7452/) (requires QuickTime)
WARNING: clicking on the above link may induce insanity. Of course, if you're a regular poster on this forum, you've already crossed that bridge, haven't you?

HEY!! I love that song.

Last week my cube neighbor had Henry the 8th stuck in his head...so he shared.

Today, I have the theme song the Kipper the Dog stuck in my head. Why a cartoon needs a bluesy type lounge song for a theme I'll never know.

Funny thing is that RATM (the album) is almost 15 years old now. And the teens still buy it.

Ever here that song on the radio though? They take a five minute rebellious rock song and turn it into cheesy metal crap.

Which is a testament to how good they are. :p  I got into them just after they released Battle of L.A. (on a side note, I'm listening to that album now, and I think I spilt bongwater on the cover at some time in the past 6 years...)

I refuse to listen to any of our radio stations :p (well, except one which doesn't do that crap, but I haven't heard them play that particular RATM song)

Seriously, I don’t wanna talk about the things we’ve gone through. I admit that though it was hurting me, now it’s history. I’ve played all my cards, and perhaps that’s what you’ve done, too. Nothing more to say, no more ace to play, as it were.
