Any chess players on this board?

I like chess, but I'm not that good I must admit. I don't play very often, since no one of my friends really likes it.

Chess is one of those things I wish I was good at.

Actually, I wish that I was taken under the wing of some excentric chess genius who played at a local cafe or sidewalk who would chide me for being distracted by the outside world while he comes up with hard to follow metaphors about how chess reflects on life in general.

I like to play chess, but I haven't in ages now. I used to play against my brother back home (and I usually lost) and against a friend...
I didn't find anybody to play with again since. While I like playing, I think I'm not very good at all, so it would have to be a really patient person.

I know how to play but I don't know any real strategies or anything. I think 2 moves ahead at the most.

I play occasionally...but I'm not that good.

I wouldn't mind learning more about the game, such has how to win consistently (:p ), but I'm just too damn busy lately.

Did he do that irratating three move (or something like that) win? That's always sucks. Especially since I can never remember how it goes so I'm pretty vulnerable to it every time.

I love Chess

I usually play chess at different tournaments where there are many masters. It's quite fun actually. To go to these tournaments you have to sign up with the USCF.

I haven't got a clue how good you are, but sure.
I've been playing chess for about 15 years now, but I'm still not really any good. Played for my university last year in a local league (we finished top of the bottom division - we were only in there because it was our first year in the league), but the president left so it's kinda fallen apart now.

I'm a passable chess player. I was a member of the USCF for a while. Rated 1660.

Well, there's the Fool's Mate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fool's_mate), but the 4 move Scholar's Mate (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholar%27s_Mate) is also fun(ny).

I haven't played chess regularly since I took up Igo back in college. A much better game, IMO.

I used to be good, but now I'm rusty. I played Team Chess and Speed Chess in High School and College on the Chess Teams.

But since then, I haven't played much and my skills have been drained. I'd like to get into it again though.

I prefer regular boards with real people. Makes it funnier

I sometimes play a casual game, but I will not lie and say I'm very good... now that I have holidays I should work on my game... :p

I love the look on your opponent's face when you hit 'em with the two move checkmate...lmao. Of course you can only do that move if you're black and your opponent is a really crap player, but it's happened a few times.

Apparently a few months ago Jamaica's best chess player came to my town to challenge anyone in the mall. I so would've loved to play him.

Im good against anyone who doesnt know what a Caro Kahn or Sicilian Defense is (anyone who isn't serious about chess).

I like chess... I don't play very often anymore and I think I'm gradually getting worse from having no practise but I do like it

I have a plan and stick to it.

Yay fun.. I played for my school last year and if I play again next year I can get a rep award from my school for playing in the school league team two years in a row..
