No. I face the wrath of my husband if I let it wait until then. And it really shouldn't be too hard to get something 'fashionable' despite the time of year...these swimwear stores are year-round. But only for small-breasted women apparently. Cripes. A D cup is not that big, and I bloody well refuse to squeeze myself into something that doesn't fit!

You know what? It wouldn't be attractive. When a woman wears a bra, or a bikini top too small for her, all it does is squeeze her boobs out the side, creating this 'double boob' effect. Suddenly, you have a set of boobs in your armpits. It's disgusting, and uncomfortable. It's NOT the same as wearing a skimpy top, that barely covers you...those are STILL fitted to the proper cup size.

I know in the Lingerie Thread of yore, some people had posted links to online lingerie/swimwear shops in Canada that had D cups and above...but that thread is bloody huge, and I can't seem to find those posts:(

Actually, if you're leaving in January, a US store ought to be able to get it to you in time. I used to work for a small electronics company in the US that regularly shipped packages to Canada. Even when Canadian customs was being excessively anal, it never took the packages more than 2 weeks to arrive. In major cities it usually took about 4 days via FedEx International Ground. If you're willing to spend the money, you can even get overnighted to you.

Most of the resorts in Cuba do have shops - particularly if you're in Varadaro (god I miss Cuba!). That being said, the selection is slight. I wouldn't count on finding something appropriate.

If you're in Toronto, I know that my wife has had "d-cup luck" at the Eaton Centre at Bikini Village.

I REALLY want to avoid the nagging (that has already begun) about getting one though...my husband seems to think that if I don't have a suit, somehow it'll ruin his fu---oh! By the way, if you're going to Cuba, don't stay in a hotel. Stay with a Cuban family (or several, if you're travelling around the island). That's what I did. It's much more interesting, and a better way to experience the country (not to mention cheaper). I'd advise you to try and experience Cuba, meet people, walk around without guides or anything. Staying in hotels and following guided tours is no fun, and I'm glad I didn't do it - but maybe that's just me. ;)

I know I know...we're torn on this. Honestly though, we just need a break from the kids, and a vacation, not an adventure. Plus, we've never been to Cuba before. We figure that this first trip will just be a resort deal, and that'll be that. Just two weeks. The next time we go, we'll stay in residencias and do a tour. I just want to eat and drink somewhere warm...I honestly don't care this time around about getting to know Cuba. Terrible, isn't it? Meh...I've done my adventuring back-pack on low funds before, and I'll do it again...just not this time.

And so far, the airfare isn't much cheaper than the package deals anyway.

And I can confirm that staying with a Cuban family isn't exactly luxury... On the other hand, they keep you well fed (for evening meals, at least), even me, who's a vegetarian. And, of course, they make sure they make a tidy profit out of you in the process. ;)

Why Cuba? Because nowhere in Canada is going to be hot in January, I don't want to go to the US, and Mexico's resorts don't interest me. Why NOT Cuba? I'd kind of like to go before Castro dies too, and I get to piss the US off by spending my money there...win win!

Why Cuba, pray tell? There are plenty of alternatives to Cuba in the carribean, and they don't happen to be run by dictators. Why don't you try...say, Panama, for instance. 'Tis fricken cheap to get here, it's not crowded, the climates just getting awesome (January is beautiful here), and it's got all the stuff you'd get in the First World (well, in Panama City, as well). AND the money you spend isn't funding a communist dictator. Unless you're visiting Guantanamo Bay :D

If you're referring to the fact that it's practically un-changed from 1950 (cept with more doctors), then I know exactly what you mean. It's a pretty place, I must admit (there are districts of Panama that are similar to Cuba), but when one consider's why Havana looks very similar to what it looked like back in 1950, it's not as pretty anymore (in my eyes, at least).

By the way, if you're going to Cuba, don't stay in a hotel. Stay with a Cuban family (or several, if you're travelling around the island). That's what I did. It's much more interesting, and a better way to experience the country (not to mention cheaper). I'd advise you to try and experience Cuba, meet people, walk around without guides or anything. Only when we were in Viñales. And that was because of the hurricane (I was there when the first hurricane hit the southern US). We just got the edge of it; no strong winds, just lots of rain. And the lights did go out every other day or so at that point.

Cuba truly is a paradise.

I've been three times, and can't wait for number 4.

The people are so much more friendly than others in the Carib-Central America area...willing to invite you in for dinner - to show you around - anything.

Crime is so low in comparison to other resort areas - and while I know it is in part because of the communist state - it's is also, I believe, because the people love Canadians, Brits - hell even the Americans I've met there can't say enough about how crime-free and friendly the country is.

To this day I still write to Cuban's I've met on my trips.

Went twice to Cuba; both times we rented a car and went from 'casa particular' to 'casa particular'; we always had hitchickers (botelleros) in our car, so we didn't go through the straight line.
That was nice, we meet a lot of people, and even completely lost in the middle of a military area (don't ask me how we managed to get there, I have no idea) we had no trouble.

Though both times we got a power-cut in Viñales, even without a storm ;)

And things are not like in the 50's; they build thousands of building in the purest soviet-style, huge blocks of concret, but I admit it is easy to avoid these cities (Cienfuegos, Santa Clara,...)

At the same time, you can find surper-cute hotels lost in the middle of the jungle, somewhere West of La Havana (dont'remember the name), best place to have sex, and sex, and sex again.
(indeed, Cuba is good for your libido...)
